For rping, I’m pretty open with other people’s writing styles, techniques, and ideas for the most part. But if someone becomes to controlling or imposing to the point where basically as you said ‘ugh with every post’ and it’s either the high way or no way all the time, then it becomes a problem. And while most rps I’ve been too either die down because lack of interest, time, etc., which that’s pretty normal imo, the last one left a reallly bad taste in my mouth for the reason stated above.

The whole thing behind backseat monitoring is if you are reprimanding someone in public for breaking actual site rules. But I personally don’t think that should apply if you’re calling someone out for their bs, especially if the user in question was lying on how certain things were being handled and everyone was left out of the dark. Thankfully for my case, it was iWrox who pulled me to the side for that and not another moderator. To this day, I still think she’s totally awesome.

I’ll take it with a grain of salt for sure though, but one thing’s for sure, Ernya staff was definitely not what they seemed.

In a way, I do see your point and where you’re coming from because I was also involved in more than one domestic abuse scenario, and to process all of those emotions is not as easy as most people make it out to be. For you to admit this shows how strong of a person you are. And I just want to know that you have come a long way and I’m very proud of you. heart


Honestly, in regards with everything you went through, none of it was your fault. In fact, most of the staff were very cliche assholes that thought they were top of the world and were insensitive to the people who had real life stuggles. Plus I think you’re awesome and you’re better off without them. heart

Chuthulu is very cute. Honestly with the amount of cute items, I’m surprised during the whole time Ernya was open, I’m surprised they did not make a chuthulu item.

Yeah, I figured as much. That’s why with a lot of them I don’t really talk to anymore. The only other person from Ernya that I talk to nowadays is reapergirl, and she pretty much said basically everything you just said just now.





And that’s the problem with smaller sites in general I notice. While Ernya was pretty much the best of the bunch of small sites, one of the biggest problems is that if you didn’t frequently post, you either lose out on a lot or you offended the group you are with (which is stupid imo because people have lives but suure). It was one of the main reasons why I initially wanted to retire from Ernya as soon as I switched over the Price Guide account to holi.has.fallen because it all became too much after a while because the only way anyone can get anywhere on the site is by posting in the forums or milking out cash from their pockets to get the nice items they want or sell items over at the forum. And while there were other sites I did tried my hand on as well, they all had worse problems in comparison to Ernya (not including Solia or Tinierme). The worst of them all, I would have to say either Pantheon or Sapherna, simply because they allowed a predator to be hired on their site as a developer, knowing the kind of danger that they were posing to young underage girls. But that’s a story for a different day.





Honestly, I thought the sheep avatar thing was pretty cool and didn’t mind it one bit. Now if people thought that this was a mascot thing, then that’s their problem because they are missing out on a very awesome person. Like, it was one of the many things that inspired me to like cute things more and have an appreciation for them. :heart:





I even got a sheep plushie too, about a few years after the site went down. Still have it too btw. 





Burnticle I’m kind of shocked, but can’t say I’m surprised either because they were a pretty stand-offish character with everyone except for very few people. Even then it’s not by much. I guess they wanted to do something for their past time while they were in college before applying to the military so they have something to keep them busy. Anyway, that’s the basic feeling I got off of them based on my encounters with her. 





Charlie I never liked to be honest with you. Like they didn’t do anything bad to me to the point where I hate them, but I never really liked him either. There was something about him that felt off, like he was nice to everyone and people told me how much they liked him, but I felt that it was one of those ‘it’s too good to be true’ personas. Now that I’m hearing this, it makes perfect sense because he seems to be the person who would show his true colors behind close doors. 





With iWrox doing all, if not most of the volunteer work, that I believe because during the time in which I was volunteering to be the artist for the tumblr site, either Charlie, Alice, and sometimes Burnticle would always ask her to post all the upcoming updates on the tumblr page. It was also one of the reasons why I stopped volunteering too because even though the team in general was really nice to me in terms of team function, they would only ask certain people to do certain tasks over other people. When I was on the team, when it came to art especially, they always asked me and one other individual (I believe it was Taurus and later creativitea) to do the weekly art for the tumblr. Initially it was supposed to be rotating between 4 members and each person does one week for every month or something like that. And eventually I ended up covering the shifts for 2 of the volunteers on the staff along with one other person and it got to the point where it was too much to juggle (quite literally I was flunking calc 1 and barely passing another course). So I ended up leaving the volunteer post for that reason.





With the whole name dropping thing, Ernya took that a little way too seriously imo. Same thing with the back seat monitorin

Yeah I remember that you had a story board that you were working on, but when it came to publishing they almost always picked creativitea (not 100% sure if that was their username or if I’m thinking about someone else) iirc. Which their stuff was alright, but doesn’t hit the same as far as fantasy and story plotting goes. It’s funny how you mentioned it too cause I kept asking about your writing too and I always got this response from either Charlie or Taurus and I always found that a little weird. I tried looking in your stuff one time because I was curious, and turns out, I couldn’t see it either way because I was blocked from viewing the writer’s portion of the Volunteer forum. Sadly.


Yeah, I’ve been looking into more realistic adventure stuff lately because no one knows how to write fantasy anymore and make it make sense. The most fantasy I go nowadays is either Disney (the classic) or genshin (cause elements and adventure, why not)


Oo! That is actually good to know. While I’m not the gossip granny, I definitely would like to know more of what happened because I’ve been left in the dark when most of this went down.

Ernya did have if not the best, then one of the best. Simply because you had more versatility with the doll creations. You can make it as realistic as possible, as anime or cartoon as possible, or all of the above. There was hardly any limitations to the site.

Funny how you mentioned the reason why you’re picky with rp players because that was precisely one of the main issues I had with the person among others. But that’s for another day. Honestly yes, it’s rather unfortunate that it happened in that fashion and that anyone had to go through something like that.

Lovecraft, nice! Now I’m thinking chuthulu instead of the little mermaid. Now that makes me wanna create a character based on chuthulu. XD

Tomb Raider has always been a great series to go by for anything that is mythology related while also keeping it real. heart

So I read a bit of the story and it’s really good so far! Your writing has definitely gotten a lot better since Ernya days.

I feel like a lot of stuff that was under Emy’s and Prezrok’s control would have gotten deleted at somepoint. Which is unfortunate because a lot of stuff that got deleted off of ernya were some of the best stuff I’ve seen in ages.

Honestly with roleplaying, I used to not be picky about my rp partners and storylines. But ever since I did that one 1x1 rp with a person who I thought was my friend at the time but turned out to be a nightmare, I am now very picky with who I role play with, should I choose to rp in the future. So I honestly don’t blame you if you’re picky. Like, go you. 3nodding

Nice! Can’t wait to see what you both come up with on the mermaid OCs!
