Harder than the ice of a drifting glacier
Sailing quickly to the edges of the earth
Flat as a pancake with ridges and valleys, preventing faded thoughts and dreams from cascading into oblivion.
Snow as white as a dead body that it covers underneath its cold blanket.
Littered with sepia colored papers of old glories, long since forgotten.
Blood seeping through the compact coffin,
Creeping to its creases threatening to expose the impurities that lie beneath.
Wings that can no longer fly through the jagged skies
Ripping and shredding everything that dares to reach beyond its mortality.
A cage-less prison made of a broken city.
Skyscrapers all around, daring against the jagged threats.
Broken streets preventing tender souls the adventure beyond.

Skeletons with a thin layer of silk as their skin, walking like a puppet…
