I do too, but there is still a pretty good one around Lake Kindred; check out Lake Kindred Forum. I've been a part of that one since I started to play 4 years ago or so.

It's now very unsafe to use any flash made games. Gaia is taking a huge chance on safety by continuing to allow it's users to play them. They're easy to hack and install hidden malicious software on now that it's parent's company stopped supporting it over a year ago. At various AtS Lanzer has said they're unable to come up with something that allows them to make a new Aquarium and Booty Grab on a safe platform. Nothing has come along with the versatility of Flash.

As for Twitter/X; the problem is Elon Musk, who has gone crazier than Trump with even more money and power. Upon acquiring Twitter the first things he reportedly did was rename it and fire the staff responsible for watching for dangerous posting (ie, propaganda to influence elections from other countries, deliberate spreading of dangerous misinformation an disinformation, promoting illegal or dangerous activities, etc. He then encouraged all of that so that now most that is tweeted falls into that category. Especially those that paid to have their posts promoted and shown first.

It really is nice to be able to somewhere, chat with people you'd not met before, get to know them, make a few good friends and enjoy the time spent with others while they play here. I know you don't care about making avies, but truly it's another big draw to remaining here. Even as other stuff changes and none of us are happy about our favorite features suddenly being abandoned over the year. But the essential experience of Gaia remains the same.

Yes, most social media is toxic and dangerous. I am only on FB to run a tiny specialized page connected to a site I helped to create many years ago, I do use Nextdoor as it's still barely possible to find useful threads amid the clutter. The rest I never had any interest in joining. Hearing what happened to twitter/X I'm glad I never did.

Thank you. Slowly things are.

In the meantime, Gaia is not a bad place to hang out while convalescing. I figured it out; it's one of the few social media places left that doesn't game the feed, allowing us to pick and choose where we want to be and to talk to that keeps it going.

Still dealing with shingles neuralgia (that lasts for months or longer) but I am healing so it's not as bad as it was.

The appearance of Aliens from Hollywood have been made palatable for audiences, so that's expected even though scientifically they'd probably be sentient piles of 'goop' or something else that isn't bipedal, but the fact that they are almost always portrayed as being either dumb enough to leave glaring weaknesses to be exploited by humans (Independence day where they forgot to protect their computer from computer bugs) or any other movie in which we somehow manage to beat them in the end and save the world (America mostly) and feel triumphant...it's just wrong...but that's another topic of discussion. Possibly more for me to write and you to read in a different communication. sweatdrop

And...I feel you about wanting to go home. I do too. Alot. Not to get too deep into it, but if I could just sleep forever, I'd choose that over having to deal with the trials and tribulations of life and such, but only if I could go away and have no one remember. To never exist, sort of. But...I'm here, and you're here and not wanting to be sappy on a Sunday..I'm glad to have met you and I'm even gladder (Is that correct?) That you're here! So remember that always. With regards to ghosts and spirits....I haven't met any as yet, but to be honest, I've had too many random occurrences and instances where people went out of their way to help me in situations where I'd be stuck and in some sort of trouble had they not...So I believe those people are "God sent", not particularly angels and such, but put there for me to benefit from..so I've evidence and faith of THAT atleast, with regards to spirts and ghosts. Have you any instances you'd like to share?

And...I'm still surprised and honored that my correspondence has that effect on you. I really am. Since I've been back, I've had to resist the urge to bombard you with messages and post for fear of making myself into a nusiance because carrying on a conversation, at length, can get tedious, no matter how much you enjoy a person. Sometimes you've got to let things breathe and be away from 'em to a point where when next you meet, there's new stuff to talk about, so I tend to practice that alot, but part of me feels a bit guilty at HOW LONG we used to go without messaging each other...and it almost made the process seem like some obligatory chore almost. Like resetting a meter on our friendship. I felt bad about that. So hearing you say something like that...it's a good feeling. It's good to know that you're welcomed and wanted instead of tolerated and endured, you know? Not that I let that sort of thing get me down as much anymore....but still.

This heat. This sweat. I fell asleep and woke up with a forehead full of sweat and a chin/cheek full of drool. Drooling in my sleep means that I had a nap far deeper than usual and I should be somewhat rested so I appreciate it, but now I've got an extra reason to go take a shower as opposed to just washing my face. Bleh. Going to go drink water and wrap up in a comfortable cocoon of sorts. Hope you're cozy or have the means to make yourself so soon!

What happens when you find the light at the end of the tunnel?
Do you ascend or are you just out of all that defined darkness?
I guess it depends on how you see the tunnel, with cartoons and other hollywood media that has going towards the light as a way of embracing death.
Which certainly isn't the case here.
But then again Hollywood is responsible for alot of erroneous things?
From the portrayal of aliens to Indians.
Bleh.
Whatever you do, stay hydrated while you do it.
This is the hottest I've felt it ever been in...quite sometime.

Also, I think my tooth is alright for the most part.
Like I wouldn't go and try and eat a jaw breaker or anything too crazy and I find myself chewing with my other side first before I switch to the filled cavity side but....I'm doing fine.
WAY better than when I had that exposed nerve that was setting my entire head on fire.
