My name is Light Yagami.
And I present to you...
My story.
...
I was born on February 28th in the Kanto region, and from then was raised by my family of two. My parents, Souichiro and Sachiko Yagami were a loving pair, and nurtured me with the utmost care that only a father and mother could give. A few years later, a new addition arrived in the family - my darling sister, Sayu, was born. Throughout my years I was surrounded by well up-bringing and a strong sense of security, knowledge, and justice. Because my father was involved in the police department, I was exposed to various news and stories from his workforce, eventually developing a strong sense of Justice and remorse for evil. I then aspired to work with my father, to help put criminals in their proper place as to make the world a better place.
But one afternoon twisted my life around indefinitely.
I remember the incident so very clearly. A couple days before, I had listened to the news while walking home - listened to the rape, the homicide - and thought, "This world... is rotten." And oh, how I had yearned to do something, to make a difference in the criminal activity around me, across the globe. As intelligent as I was, high school was far less than a challenge to me. The students around me were beneath me in knowledge, and I ached for a way to put my mind to better use.
Then it came.
One, lone, black notebook fell from the clouds - from the heavens, dare I say - and onto the lush grass of the school grounds. I was surprised, even skeptic that an object could just appear out of nowhere like that. However, not even skepticism could prevent my curiosity from picking it up, taking it home, and writing my very first name inside the sinfully black Death Note. And somewhere between my first name and the many pages of names following the first, I encountered a monster whom I thought were merely myths; he was a lanky, morbidly-smiling, and bored Shinigami named Ryuk. After that, I experienced an epiphany.
I could help the world.
I could eliminate criminals with a stroke of a pen.
And inevitably bring the well-deserved peace that each innocent individual deserved.
I could do it.
I could.
I.
Me.
And from then on, I became a whole different person.
However, my newfound inspiration was short-lived as I underwent a confrontation with a single, Old English, and infuriating letter.
L.
L challenged everything I stood for, and dared to call me the very thing I abhored the most. L, the number one detective of the world, who took up the Kira Case because he felt that, in the name of Justice, that Kira should be rid of. That I should be exteriminated. L had a flawed sense of Justice, if that's what one could even call it in the first place. Though he was the greatest detective, L was also one to take cases he was interested in while allowing other criminals to run amok. Because of his sense of right and wrong, innocents have died at the hands of murderers while many more are being raped and abused.
Perhaps L was chosen to take specifically unique cases; however, I was chosen to make a true difference in the world.
And what a difference I have made.
No one will get in my way.
No one will dare challenge me.
Anyone who attempts to will die.
Even L.

You're right, it has been a while. I was pleasantly surprised to see you left me a comment!
Yes, I'm still active, though I haven't posted in Kira Inc as often as I used to. sweatdrop
Thank you for dropping a quick comment! It was appreciated!

It's strange being back on Gaia at all, honestly, but it's always nice to hear from old friends. I've been attempting to reconnect at least a little, but. Gaia never holds my attention, so it feels rather hopeless. I'm glad I caught you, at least. <3
Aha. I knew it. I'm happy for you. cool You're such a rockstar.
I'm okay! Building up an art portfolio so I can possibly get into video games. Certainly not doing as successfully as you, but I'm happy, at the very least, and I graduated high school, which is always good.
Just. Wow, I don't mean to be sappy, but. It's just been such a long time, it's nice to hear from you. I'm so happy you're doing well.
ollies out
I'll be at Otakon in three days and therefore unable to say this on the actual day, so. HAPPY BIRTHDAY a few days early. :3
-covers his nose and mouth with the tissue; brandishes the duster like a rapier-
Give a suspect an inch of freedom, and he will use that inch to commit more nefarious crimes.
Ah~ still obnoxious? I'm flattered that Light-kun remembered something about me.
-frowns slightly-
Of course. I suppose I'll keep the dust off, anyway. Behave yourself, hm?
