As a powerful shaman of the Asakura clan, I strived to become Shaman King one thousand years prior to present times. I had mastered all the arts and techniques of Onmyoudou, including the ability to see the future, use reishi (soul sight), command powerful spirits and allow and control the circumstances of reincarnation.
I had (and still do have) Reishi (a form of telepathy that allows the user to see the hearts of others), but I could not control the limit of the power. Because I used to live in a time of war, disease, and famine (the Heian period), I attempted to help others with my powers. I began to see the darker side of human nature as I discovered, with my reishi, that those I helped were jealous and afraid of my power; and because of this, I am convinced that all humans are evil.
My heart became consumed with hatred for humanity and began to plot the destruction of humanity by becoming Shaman King. I believe that by doing so, the planet and other animals that humans abused would be saved. In this time, I also allowed people to worship me as god, and, for some reason, people think I have developed a superiority complex... Which I did, and still do, believe myself to be better than everyone; Which, I might add, I can easily back this claim up.
I am by far the most powerful and learned shaman who has ever lived. In my original life, I was already the strongest shaman of my day, but since learning the ways of reincarnation, I have become a truly powerful being, my strength many hundreds—perhaps many thousands—of times greater than my nearest rivals. Both the Shaman Council and my descendant's—in both the Asakura family and Silva's tribe—fear me greatly. They have sought to bar me from the Shaman tournament, but know this is impossible, in part because I distract the brutal rival Shaman faction the X-Laws, but mainly because if they tried to stop me, they know they would have no way of winning. Scoffs.
