About
I have an undying desire to help others live their lives happily, healthily, with their friends and families. I'm interested in the Medical profession not because my mother told me to go into it, or that my will is being pushed by the smart-Asian stereotype - but because of the difference I want to make in my community, and in the world.
At first I wanted to go into Pharmacy - less school, lots of cash, medical profession... perfect job, isn't it? I found out though; being in the medical profession is so much more than that. It means selfless service to the community, in order to save precious lives and help people stay healthy so that they can be with their loved ones. So why stop at Pharmacy? Lets aim for that MD.
Why contribute so much of my life towards such a goal? To lose the vigor of my twenties for schooling, gain hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt, and put so much effort into schooling? The money? No. If it was logistically possible, I would do it for free. I guarantee you, I would.
I want to be that person to make the difference. I -will- be that person to make the difference. Not for me, but for you. For everyone, so that you can continue your life in happiness. Your life with others. Because happiness is the greatest feeling, and I feel happy when you are making happy memories without the interruption of a myocardial infarction.
My name is Danny Nguyen, and I'm a pre-medical student at the University of Texas at Austin. I'm here to serve my community; I'm here to change the world.
