About
First of all, it's "shar-TROO". And please refrain from making the obvious joke.
I am a time traveler, but not the kind that you are probably familiar with. While the phrase probably conjures images of going back and forth in time, I can only go sidewise between different timelines. I will always end up at the same time and place that I was at when I left.
Every time there is anything that can happen more than one way, time will split and a new timeline will be created for every possibility. Because of this, the number of "lines" is impossible to count and may very well be infinite. I prefer to use the word "how" to say which one I am on in the same way most people use "where" and "when," but it can get confusing sometimes.
One just has to be in a certain state of mind, for lack of a better way to phrase it, to travel between them. I learned the technique from a book written by another person with the same ability who lived a long time ago(Because of him, I have been writing down my own adventures so that they might inspire someone else someday). However, it can only be done by people who only exist in one timeline, as meeting an alternate self could destroy the multiverse. This makes the ability very rare. Of course, very few people exist in every timeline either, so it seems as if everyone should be able to go to lines that they don't exist in, but I suppose that's just not how the universe works.
The locus (the word I prefer to use to describe location in place, time, and line) I was born in has a language resembling French, hence the name. Although it sounds very much like a certain breed of cat (that coincidentally resembles me in personality), the word "catt" has a very different meaning in that locus than "cat" does in this one, one that I don't think it would translate very well. Suffice to say that it's an abstract concept and definitely not an animal. Also, the people in one of my favorite loci (and one that I visit often) use speech that sounds slightly odd, verbose, and archaic to people in this one, hence I sound a bit pompous sometimes because I've picked up many of their mannerisms.
My favorite colors are blue, black, and gray, as you may have noticed. I love cats very much. I am intelligent but somewhat socially awkward and rather quiet. I might enjoy my adventures through different lines a bit too much, and occasionally get into trouble-- I'd rather not talk about the scar and the limbs, except to say that I made the replacements myself (and the same goes for the wings that I use occasionally).
