A magician of questionable renown who has been making his own way ever since his master, Magnifi, decided to pass on the secrets of his trade to that other guy.
Personality: Secretive about his trade like any magician worth their salt, and a deep appreciation of showmanship. Although at times bedraggled by the drudgery of the mundane, Valant is always ready to put on a show. His struggle for success and his troubled relationships with the Troupe Gramarye have left him somewhat bitter, but he refuses to let an old vendetta get the best of him.
Friends and Family: Was once the student of magician Magnifi Gramarye, and a colleague to Magnifi's daughter, Thalassa, and her husband, Zak. Valant maintains contact with Thalassa's daughter, Trucy Wright, especially as she holds the rights to Magnifi's repertoire. He appears to have no other family to speak of since the dissolution of Troupe Gramarye.
