In Feb 2005, my younger cousin Syrena found out she had cancer, she was only 14 years old at the time. She went in because of an ear ache and that's when they found out. They said it wasn't normally found in children, but in 50+ year old women. I can't remember what it's called, it was an odd name.
For the next two and half years she battle the cancer, still going to school whenever she was able. With all she was going through she still managed to make a 4.0 in school. She inspired everyone around with how strong she was.
In Oct. 2007, she sadly lost the battle with cancer. She has inspired us even after she past away. She opened our eyes to a lot that we took for granted. I wish more than anything I could hug her today and tell her what an inspiration she was to me. I never got to tell her that.
