The Yellow Wall
Where we honor those that survived, those that did not, and those still fighting.
Elsa Minns & Thomas Mitchell

Elsa Minns

Please don't ever stop fighting. We used to be such good friends, then she left my school and we no longer talked. I heard the rumour from a friend that Elsa had Leukemia. One day I read through the papers, and my fears had been confirmed. Elsa had gone swimming with the dolphins as a treatment. I almost cried when I read it. All the bickering as children had made us close friends. Now I fear and dread every day that there might be a report in the newspapers telling me Elsa didn't make it. Please, never stop fighting.

Thomas Mitchell

He fought bravely to the end. I remember it clearly, we were on our way to our relatives on a boat. And he was constantly sick and felt dizzy. My mother thought it was travellling sickness so she gave him something against it. His mother agreed. They went back to England before us and they went to the doctors. He had a malignant tumour in his brain. And before I knew what was happening he had chemo, and we looked after his brother. Thomas died at home, at the age of 15. An untimely death.
