So it all started on March 17.
She was taking her daily morning walk around the block. She was crossing the street, then the car hit her. The car's side view mirror hit her arm, breaking it and knocking her unconscious.
She was taken to the hospital, the intensive care unit. This event just so happened to occur the day after our family found out that her breast cancer cells had spread to her lungs. Then when they scanned her, there were more cancer cells, plus tumors.
A couple months later, a priest from the Philippines came to our house. I still remember part of what he said. He ordered the cancer cells leave her body. Hot tears streaked the faces in the room.
Then, on the first Sunday of August, she had her first episode. She had difficulty breathing, and from that night on, she used an oxygen machine.
Then, on the seventh day of August, the cancer completely took over her system and then her last breath..
