Sullen Girl Act 7.0
Act 7.0

I slept perfectly that night. I was warm and at peace. I wasn’t afraid, not anymore. We awoke that night. (Because we slept when the sun was out)
“What do you want to do today?” He whispered to me as he pulled the sheets up to my chin.
“You never did finish telling me about yourself.” I pointed out. He pulled my arms across his chest.
“What do you want to know?”
“Only everything. But first, tell me about Breanna.”
“I was sworn to secrecy. She said she’ll tell you everything. It will be like how you daydreamed.” How could Breanna or Dorian know that? He couldn’t be lying. He wouldn’t.
“That’s Breanna for you…”
“So, you haven’t seen her in ten years, huh?”
“No. I miss her very much. When was the last time you seen her? You can at least tell me that.” Just thinking about her made the giant hole in my heart rip open further.
“Well…It would be…the day that I met you.”
“I don’t understand her. You’ve seen her a few weeks ago, yet she wont come and see me. At least she’s still alive. She’ll probably live for another three hundred years.” I muttered. He laughed.
“Yes. I’m sure she will.”
“Who created you?” I began on the next question. He seemed abruptly serious, as if it weren’t a good question.
“…His name was David Stauffer. Only I chose to keep his last name and he changed his.”
“Why would you do that? Why isn’t he living with us, like your brother?”
“Nick isn’t my blood brother. David created him. In the rules of vampire covens, we become a family. David created me and then sought Nick. I created Melinda. But she, like David, is no longer here.”
“So this Melinda girl would be…”
“My daughter. But she was stubborn. She had this picture of life, and how it was supposed to be. She thought that we were the race that was to rule the world. She didn’t understand why we needed to live in the shadows, like we never existed.” This Melinda girl reminded me of someone, but I couldn’t remember who.
“Okay. I understand that… But let’s back this up. What are covens?”
“Covens are like…groups of vampires, like us, but a lot more powerful. They kill in numbers, but are very cautious. They could wipe out thirty people without the whole town noticing. Rarely do they fight their own kind, but they are very hostile.”
“Do you think…someone from a coven could have made me?” I wondered about who it was. It was too agile to be a male. It’s touch was soft and familiar. But I could be wrong.
“It’s possible. But they don’t attack unless they have a reason. And that reason has to apply to the whole group. That’s what made me wonder about you. If it was a coven, they wouldn’t have attacked you. They would have if you were in a group. But when you were bit, you were alone. It was like the vampire stalked you. So unless you’ve been picking fights with groups of vampires, there would be no reason. That’s why I think whoever did it was alone. But that doesn’t explain why you’re a vampire.”
“I don’t get what you mean. So what?”
“If the vampire was alone, it would have completely drained you. It’s goal was not to kill you. It wanted you to be with it. It wanted you to join their coven. That’s why it has to be…”
“A vampire coven!” I finished. “But why?”
“That I don’t know. But what does it matter?”
“You’re right. I’m a lot happier here.” He intertwined our hands together. I finally realized why God made spaces between everyone’s fingers; so they could be filled. Nick walked out of his bedroom and rolled his eyes when he saw us.
“Tell me, what happened three hundred years ago?” I began on the next question, ignoring Nick’s passing death glare.
“I was born in New York in1708. I wasn’t rich, but I wasn’t poor. It was just the three of us. There was my little sister Sophie, and my older brother Michael. I loved them both very much. We traveled all over in search of our parents. Soon it led us to France. When we arrived we had little money left over, so we roomed with a very generous family. It was horrible. Everything was infested. But it was too late for Sophie, she had died of the plague. Then it was only me and Michael. Michael met a woman by the name of Janice. She was France’s well known hooker. But he loved her and soon they ran away together. Most likely to elope. I hated my brother since then.” Dorian went to the parlor window and sat at the ledge. I could tell he was upset. He lit a cigarette and began again.
“All I could think about was what I had lost and not what I had left.”
“You were angry with him because he left you all alone.” I guessed.
“Yes. He was my flesh and blood. How could he leave me for a woman? Which makes me think not. Something must have happened to him.”
“Vampires?” I asked.
“It’s possible. If that’s the case then he’s either dead or alive. That’s better than just dead.”
“Well go on, what happened after that?”
“Remember when you were sad before I met you? It was like your hide from the world. I did that. I was a mess. Soon I became homeless and I knew the black plague was coming for me so I gave in. That’s when I met David. He offered me his hand and took me to his home. He cleaned me up, gave me the most elegant clothing and took me out to plays “I was born in New York in1708. That’s when I met David. He offered me his hand and took me to his home. He cleaned me up, gave me the most elegant clothing and took me out to plays without a word.” I stayed quite as he measure my expressionless face. She was very special to him, something I might never be equal to…
“Do you remember the day you came to my room when I was asleep and you wrote on my computer?”
“What?”
“You don’t remember? It was only a couple of weeks ago! You know, that you’d see me soon.”
“I never wrote it.” He said.
“That’s strange.” I thought aloud.
“We’d better move all your stuff back in your room.” He said.
“Will you…stay with me for one more night?” I asked. If my face could, it would turn red.
“How about this. I’ll stay with you tonight, but in your room. Sound okay?”
“Yes, ” I smiled. We picked up all of our stuff and headed into my room to put it away.

Dorian had work, and Nick had work. I had nothing. I did a few things around the house. I cleaned, made Dorian his lunch, did the laundry, made dinner. But that was it. I tried watching T.V but nothing was on. I felt like I should be doing something. I should have a job. I sort of…felt like a house wife. But that wasn’t the half of it. Today, I nearly died.

I was in the bathroom cleaning out all sorts of stuff when I started coughing. I collapsed on the floor, unable to breathe. Blood was coming up with each cough. I wiped up whatever splattered on the floor, and on the corners of my mouth. I took down a giant glass of water and didn’t dare to tell anyone. Maybe it would just pass. Maybe it would never happen again. I could tell Dorian. I already felt like a nuisance. If I told him I was sick or something, it would make it worse. I just prayed to god that it would happen again. I burned everything with my blood on it, and let it go. It was nothing. Nothing but a bad coughing spell.

Dorian, as everyday, drove through the drive way, opened the back kitchen door, took off his muddy boots, and ran to greet me. I breathed in the sweet sent of him, and got lost in my mind. He kissed me and released me.
“Where’s Nick?” He asked
“Oh, he still out. I made dinner.”
“Uh, oh.” He sighed. “I don’t know if I want to try it.” I shot him an angry look, and his face quickly turned apologetic. “Sorry.”

So, we ate without Nick. It wasn’t all bad. My cooking was pretty good. Only, the bad thing started happening. I started coughing, and I could feel blood coming up. I quickly swallowed and pretended like I was just choking.
“You eat too fast, that’s your problem.” He smiled. And I tried smiling back too.

The days began to grow long, and tiring. I was doing things that I normally wouldn’t do but I had nothing else better to do. I wanted some kind of job. The rest of the family was. I kept feeling like a burden, and it hurt every time I realized that. I was cleaning the kitchen, trying to forget how much of a burden I was, when I started coughing. Only this time, I wouldn’t stop. I couldn’t breathe, and I fainted on the floor. I don’t know how long I was out for, but when I awoke I was in a strange room, not in our house. I could see Dorian, and a different man. He looked about thirty. He had black hair and the darkest of eyes. But somehow, he was beautiful, like all the other vampires I have seen. He had the same dark shadows under his eyes like Dorian and the lightest of skin tones.
I was lying on a wooden bench, shelves and shelves of books were lining the room. The strange man sat at his desk, looking at his papers. Dorian was yelling. Pointing to me once. I sat up.
“Ah, so the princess has awoke.” The man’s silky voice cooed. Dorian shot him an angry glare. “I am David. It seems you have something wrong with you.” So this is the David Dorian was talking about. I wonder why he left. Dorian seems to still stay in touch with him.
“Is there anything you can do?” Dorian was anxious, and I was wondering what they were talking about.
But then it hit me. The last thing I remember was passing out on the kitchen floor. Dorian must have found me, blood spattered all over the floor…This was not what I intended.
“Why should I? You have chose to live without me, and there is nothing I can do because of that.”
“David!” Dorian’s fist banged on the desk, making both him, me and every paper on that desk shutter.
“Temper, my boy. That won’t get you anywhere. Hmm, let’s see. Remember when you had Melinda. She was so beautiful, wasn’t she? Much better than the girl you promised eternity to this century. Where did she go? Or did you chose to live alone with out her just like me?” Dorian’s anger quickly hushed. He was pained. This Melinda girl must have been what he was to me. Another lover. I too looked away, pained.
“If you can’t do anything, I’ll fix it myself.”
“Hold it Dorian.” David stopped him by grabbing his sleeve. “I’ll see what I can do.”
He probed at my skull, took samples of my damned blood and was able to give the analysis the next night. He was the best doctor I’ve ever seen.
“You’re a vampire.” He concluded.
“If you honestly think I’m going to let you get away with this…” Dorian threatened darkly.
“No, no! You must listen closely. I wasn’t finished. You were already a vampire before you became one!”
“That’s impossible.” Dorian Scoffed.
“How do you know? It’s never been done. But Can’t it be? Somewhere in her family, is a vampire. She was half before she became whole.”
“That doesn’t explain anything.” I spoke up.
“Girl, do you not know what vampire poison does? It kills everything. All your organs die. Only your empty blood remains. That blood keeps you alive. You need all your blood’s pathways. Vampires can bleed to death. But when you were bite, the poison had nothing to kill but your veins, arteries, etcetera. Without them you die. Right now as I’m telling you this, the poison is seeping through your veins, shutting them of. You’re dying, girl.” Dorian’s eyes were glassy, empty. I felt the tears coming…
“But there is a cure! I have all the ingredients except the most important.”
“What is it, we’ll get it!” Dorian said.
“I need the blood of the vampire who bite you, Sarah.” He threw Dorian a vial. “No vampire leaves it’s victim alive. Go to the place you were bit, and surely you will find him.”
“That you Mr. David.” I said, bounding up and kissed his cheek. Dorian and me ran out the front door, to the place of my demise…

there might b a part in here when it repeats itself...bc i copied and pasted it funny.... sweatdrop
