Quickly, one observation: Many Gaians' names have changed, so reading old threads is a bit confusing. All those references to other posters in the thread no longer make sense. Add to that the strange, new outfits (and even faces eek ), and there's little chance of recognizing who was speaking to whom! burning_eyes
Other topics:
- Money. OMG, inflation! Dailies will hand out a million and a half, while prices for items can top 1 trillion. (How am I ever going to get those items for Rythen if they soar further and further from my grasp? Not like he will log in to see the gift, but it is important to me to do the giving.) And what's with the item obsession and using -real- money all over the place?
- Oh, the punch of sorrow over losing zOMG!, a great feature I thought generated a lot of the good old community feel again, while bringing old and new Gaians together. Wish I'd played it more while it was around.
- At least caroling is still a feature, along with Word Bump and Towns. Grateful for that. :nod:
- Took a peek in the forums for the first time in ages, and I don't recognize half the acronyms. Or the references to events. So lost. I don't think I was even that lost back in 2003(-ish?) when I was first lurking in the ED before I created an account.
- Pink box links are appearing pretty frequently, as are the trunks-which-no-longer-can-be-opened-without-real-money. Also, days-in-a-row-logged-in stamps are a thing. Don't think I've mentioned that before.
-Posting an entry now requires typing an advertising phrase? XD
Those are the quick observations for now, after Christmas caroling in 2016. Welcome, 2017!
