Finally! An entry is here!

This journal has changed since it's start in December of '04. I began it with a way-too-serious title, a Latin subtitle, and a resolve to "stick to quotes, fortune cookies, and observations" until I came up with a good purpose for even having a journal. xd

The next month its purpose became clear: this would be a Gaia experiences log, detailing everything that happened around me in Gaia. I asked if changing the title to Omniae Gaia would be more apropo, but since no one was commenting at that point, it didn't seem to matter. The journal has since kept its strange starting title, even after fellow Gaians began reading it.

Though the title didn't change, other things about this journal have, at times reflecting my RL experiences despite my initial intentions.

In one entry, I only listed the good things that had happened in Gaia. Then another entry mentioned only the good effects Gaia had had on my RL. In these early entries, I avoided mentioning anything negative like the plague. It was out of determination to keep Gaia a happy place, a refuge from the negative aspects of my non-cyber life.

Gradually, the journal became a progress log of the many obligations I had gained during my time in Gaia. As progress disappeared, entries dropped off and were no longer posted monthly. Then it became a simple status log mentioning my disappearances and failures. A product of weakened determination and angry guilt, I suppose.

It's been a long span since I have participated in Gaia the way I would like to.

I'm starting over.

So it's an appropriate time to assess my journal and renew its purpose. These entries are not here to be overly optimistic or depressing. They are simply here to tell about my Gaia experiences, come what may. I will write observations and status reports each month, good or bad, whether they are cheerful or depressing.

When I look back, I just want to read the truth. Hopefully anyone who sees this journal will find that of interest, too. 3nodding

Best Wishes! ^_^
