Now I lay me down to sleep,
tears rolling down my face.
I pray thee lord my soul to keep.
For to shreds I have found it.
If I die before I wake
will I be lost forever to this Night?
I pray thee lord my soul to take,
but how could you or anyone that seize?
But if I live for other days
Can it be mended? Will it remain?
I pray thee lord to guide my ways
But lost I am and other days
are lost forever to empty space
