Right ...
Welcome! You May Not Exist!
Hello, uhm, anyone? Can people even see this? Oh I guess you can. Welcome.

I'm Anna. I know many things. I know of ancestor-simulation. Rings a bell? No? Well. Wouldn't it be nice if we was able to travel to the past and explore the world of tomorrow, the former generations, civilazations? It would be a huge step forward for the mankind in general.
Sadly enough, it is not possible for us to travel back in time before a timemachine is built (did I mention I believe in timemachines?), so unless you believe aliens planted a timemaschine back then with the dinesaurs, there is no going back. Too bad.
Then ancestor-simulation comes into the picture. Why not recreate former civilizations virtuel? We are already capable of making quite realistic images with a computer; in the near future we will be able to make images so realistic that you can't tell animated from the real world. We could create reality-space.
Did anyone see Matrix? We could make a computer program, and by stepping into it, it would take us to London in the 16th century! We would never be able to see it wasn't real - we would know it, but the stones would feel real, the houses, the sky.. even the people would seem so real. That would be nice, wouldn't it? It'll give us an oppertunity to explore the past and learn more of ourself.
This rises a scary question.

Are we real?

How, how can you tell if this world is real? We could be an ancester-simulation of what the 'real' people think 2005 looked like. We're a computer programme. Somewhere out there in the year of 3379 people turn to their computer when they want to learn more of us. They visit us. We're a virtual creation, we're programmed to act like this.
n** your arm. You felt that? Does that make you real? Or just a really good computerprogramme? I'm not saying there's a chip in our head. There isn't. We're a 3D image. You can't tell us from reality because we look so damn real.
True, if we are a simulation, there will be some from 'the real world' visiting us. The chances of you being such one is one to a billion billion billion billion etc. - in other words: almost zero. I'm sorry.

Damn I always knew there was something wrong.

Yours truly (that if is I exist),
Anna

    Thank you for sharing that.
Quite enjoyable. I now have a theory
that will be playing in my head for a time,
battling out the ideas and concepts.
    Have a good day.
