Envy gave a sure nod, smiling slightly. "Good. I figure I might as well pick up on some more new skills while I'm here." He was relieved. He had been afraid, for whatever reason, that she would refuse. He stood up and stretched, walking over to the door and poking his head out. Now to lure the elusive midget alchemist out.... "HEY STUPID CIRCUS MIDGET WITH HEIGHT ISSUES, I'M MAKING OUT WITH WINRY!" He then slammed the door shut and flopped onto the bed. If nothing else, he had scared the stupid face out of his skin by the sheer volume of his voice. Ed jumped from the silence being disrupted, almost falling off of the couch. Den had sat up straight from his sleeping position and gave the door a warning look as it slammed. "WHO ARE YOU CALLING A MIDGET SO SHORT YOU CAN'T DEPICT HIM FROM ALL OF THE GRAINS OF SAND?!
Winry merely rubbed her temples at Envy's shout and jumped at Edward's, which had to be twice as loud as Envy's. In a manner that could be very much considered affectionate, Envy wrapped his arms around Winry's waist and nuzzled her neck. "Sorry 'bout that, but I couldn't resist," he murmured, one part apologetic and one part playful. He was definetly getting the midget back. Oh, you could be sure of that. After he stopped being so comfy, of course, but he'd get back at the other for sure. Winry smiled at him, one of her arms hooking around his neck. She knew if Edward were to walk in right about now, he'd have a heart attack. But fortunately, she knew he probably wasn't going to suffer a heart attack any time soon since he was probably doing something with Den. It had to be something. After all, such a warmth hadn't spread over Envy in the last three hundred years. The last time he had felt such a feeling had been in a beautiful, blooming garden with a sickly, but forever happy girl. And that girl had brown hair and silver eyes. The place he was in now was in the middle of nowhere and it was raining. The girl he was with now had blonde hair and aquamarine hair. But... Envy smiled and leaned onto Winry, closing his eyes. "Maybe it's not so different," he murmured to himself. She didn't bother to ask what he meant, because she just automatically knew he was probably speaking to himself. Resting her head on his shoulder, she only sat there, feeling something she was pretty sure she hadn't ever felt before. The brat probably wouldn't be pleased if he knew what was happening upstairs right above his head right now, but Envy didn't really care much about it. The only thing that did bug him about Edward was his relationship with Winry. Hell, he would've preferred it if the two really were related. Then, he wouldn't have to worry about competition. He sighed, eyes opening slightly to stare at the gold strands of hair that fell down Winry's back. Winry's eyes turned to look out of the window again, and what she saw made her do a slight double-take. What was Ed doing?
Actually, he was heading for his mother's grave. Rain or shine, it didn't really matter to him. Winry watched as he headed in the direction of the graveyard. Envy felt a small bit of movement from Winry and looked up himself, raising an eyebrow slightly at seeing the other blond of the household out in the rain. He would probably get a fever if he was stupid enough to stay out there long enough... Which reminded him..."Where's that ti- brother of his, anyway?" Envy asked, changing his word mid-saying so that he didn't say something that would insult his...friend? Eh, he'd go with it. "I don't know," Winry blinked, looking back at Envy for a moment before turning to gaze out of the window again. "Ed didn't even say anything about him. Hope he's okay.
Ed usually kept her in the dark, anyway. She remembered when Ed and Al had found out Hughes died, she'd found out by a newspaper. To this day, she hadn't known who'd done it. "He probably is," Envy purred in what he hoped what a soothing manner. "If he wasn't, the moron outside would be much more depressed or something, right? Don't worry about it." He, in such a shy manner he felt like a little kid, moved his head to kiss Winry hesitantly on the cheek. Winry felt her head bow in a nod. Yeah, he was probably right--Edward probably would've been too uptight to act so nonchalant like he had been throughout the day.
Only seconds later did she feel lips on her cheek, and she turned around to face the sin, a smile appearing on her face as she noticed their noses were almost touching. Envy felt his face go hot as Winry turned to face him and the smile on her face. Jeez...When had been the last time he had blushed? At a loss at what to do, the unsure Sin adjsuted his head slightly and leaned in closer. He felt stupid and shy. Since when had that happened? How'd she do all this stuff to him without him noticing just now? Noticing him lean in, Winry did too, and that's when she felt her lips touch his.
There had to be thousands of things running through her mind right now. She could hardly remember how this had started--how anything had started. Since when had either of them had an interest in things such as this? Or, more importantly, in each other? What confused him most was why she would want such a thing with a, well, thing like him. Why..? He pushed any and every thought to the back of his mind, on hand reaching up to cup her cheek as he kissed her. And not with any intent to win some stupid contest....He just wanted to be with her, now.
Winry felt an automatic hand go up to rest on one of his shoulder, while the other remained slung around his neck. She knew perfectly well just what she was doing, and why she was choosing to do it...the answer was simple, it was the answer that was just sticking into her head, refusing to be let out. He kept it short and sweet this time, not passionate like their last one had been. He pulled away after a few seconds and stared at Winry, smiling sheepishly like a child who had been caught with their hand in the cookie jar. So....She returned his feelings. Envy didn't quite know why, but he was just thankful that she did. Returning his smile, she just held onto him gently, shoving all of the thoughts into the back of her mind forcefully.
So that was all there was to it. They both had feelings for each other, that part was certain. She was certain about it. This was certainly an event in his life he had not forseen. But did it matter? She had said to do things for himself, right? And, right now, he wanted to be in love with this insane blond automail mechanic. For not the first time, Envy wondered if it was William's soul that was allowing him to feel this emotion. He laid his head on her chest, movements hesitant and cautious so that he didn't hurt her with strength that didn't belong to most humans. She knew it wasn't going to be easy, as simple as it seemed. After all, he was a homunculus--but if you wanted an honest answer if she cared, the answer would be no. She couldn't care less about what he was. As long as he was with her.
Winry allowed him to do this, watching him with soft eyes as she did so. Winry Rockbell was sweet, quiet, kind, and he was in love with her, so that almost made it seem like everything would be alright. Almost. Not quite. What would happen if Dante found out? It would not be pleasant. Not at all. So he'd just have to keep this hidden somehow...A new identity. That would work. He could hear her heart while laying his head down like this. It was a reassuring sound, constant and there. Envy wrapped his arms around her, gentley. She had no worries if Ed and Al found out, mainly because she knew she could tell them a million times and over and they wouldn't believe her--not that she was planning on telling them, however.
She let her arms wind themselves around him, as his did to her as he rested his head on her chest. That would work. He lay there for a while longer, perfectly happy for once without any carnage, before speaking quietly. "I'll have to leave for awhile." He didn't want to leave, too enraptured by this weaved emotion, but he knew the consequences if he didn't. "Just to throw them off my trail." Winry looked at him for a moment. Then, she gave a small nod of understanding. "Alright," she said with equal quietness.
She didn't want him to leave, but knew he had to, and also knew it wouldn't be for a long time. Reluctantly and showing it, Envy pushed himself away from Winry and stood up. "It shouldn't take more then a week." He changed his form again, to that of a tall, stoic young man with short black hair and dark eyes. "If pipsqueek asks, tell him I just left." Winry gave another nod and watched him morph again. "Okay. Just be careful." Wouldn't that be bad if he were to get caught? Oh, my. That wouldn't have been good at all. He tossed her a relaxed, nonchalant smile. How horribley easy it was to still lie. "Don't worry. Now, if I don't show up in a month, that's when you'd have to worry." He tried to make his smile reassuring as he waved at her, turning towards the door and opening it. She did all she could to smile, managing a small one as she raised a hand to wave back. That's when Den bounded in, but unlike last time, didn't attack the sin. Instead, he just went for Winry, shoving his auto-mail arm in her face.
"Time to check the arm?" She gave Envy one last smile, this time managing to make it larger. She was trying too hard, he thought. Then again, maybe he was as well. He hopped down the stairs, the gears inside his mind whirring and coming up with an identity that he had not used yet. He'd have to come up with something different, something they hadn't spotted.... But still some one who Winry could recognize when he came back. Which he would, he thought fiercely as he stepped out into the rain. Winry watched him leave, a hint of sadness in her eyes. The dog on her lap whimpered a bit, continuing to wave it's paw around. Giving a deafeated sigh, she nodded. "Okay, Den," she said, shaking her head as she got up from the bed. "Come on. Two weeks. Those had been the worst two damn weeks of his entire life. The young teen stretched, dark blue tank top slipping over one thing shoulder. A bag, filled to the brink with random trinkets, was besides him on the floor of the train station. Jeez, it'd been too long. And, despite their emotions just awakening, Envy had missed his blond haired mechanic far too much. His hair was of an odd, orange-brown color and his eyes were a bright feline yellow. Slung over his hips were a pair of jeans and black boots. The doppleganger had gone all around the country and was a week overdue, but here he was. Back in Resembool. Winry had just recieved the news that Pinako would be staying in Rush Valley for another month...when she heard that, she couldn't help but feel sorry for Dominic...or maybe that was the reason she was staying.
Also, she'd been worried during all of that time, wondering if Envy was okay, mindlessly waiting all of that time. It drove her crazy, almost. Envy slung the leather bag over his shoulder and bolted out of the train station, breathing in the sweet scent of the country. Most of the places he'd been in hadn't exactly been nice...Interesting, but not the places he'd want to live in. But he had better things to think about. It didn't take long, with his speed, so before he knew it, he was in front of the Rockbell house. He couldn't help but grinned, bright yellow eyes flashing violet for a moment before going back to their chosen color. Winry was inside the house, wearing her purple worksuit she'd tied into a knot around her waist, accompanied by her black tube-top. Another work-day for her.
She wad filling up Den's dog bowl, then setting the package back on the counter. Envy walked up to the door and rapped on it with his knuckles, grinning excitedly. He'd been waiting for a very long while to get here. The extra week hadn't done much to improve his view on ever getting back, but here he was. He stifled a chuckled and called into the house. "Hey! Win'! Guess who!" Winry nearly jumped out of her skin from the silence being disturbed. Who was that? Then it seemed to dawn on her...only one person had called her 'Win'' before....
That's all it took for her to go tearing through the house to the door, practically tearing it off of its hinges in attempt to open it. Holy....Was he sure that she wasn't a homunculus? Because he swore that door had been near torn off the wall....It was ripped somewhere, he was sure of it... He turned his eyes away from the door and grinned at Winry. "Well...Two weeks is the same as one, right?" He held out the bag as if it were a peace treaty. "Got you stuff." Hopefully the mechanic wouldn't be too annoyed with him for being gone a little longer then he had promised.. Winry's face split into a wide grin. She took the bag for a moment but then set it down beside, instead lunging for the Sin, throwing her arms around his neck.
Well, what could she say? She was relieved--relieved and happy. Envy took a step backwards as Winry flung herself at him, chuckling slightly as he wrapped his arms around her. He buried his face into her hair. "I take it you missed me, then?" he purred. It felt great to be with some one who actually cared, he had realized. When he was out in the open, when he was with this silly human girl who he ordinarily would've have spared a glance, he felt warm, human. Winry's answer was a nod into his shoulder. She opened her eyes, glancing up at him for a moment.
She wondered why it took so long, but shook it off, just glas that he was back with her once again. Envy unwrapped one arm and herded Winry back into the house. "Sorry I couldn't make it sooner," he said simply, nose feeling ticklish as it brushed against blond hair when he leaned in to kiss her forhead. "I didn't realize just how persistent Lust could be." He deemed it would be best not to tell his lover how he had just narrowly avoided having his head cut off. He didn't want her to worry. She followed him as he lead her back into the house, blinking at his last words. Lust? Shoving any worry-some thoughts that might've entered her head during that time, she glanced back up at Envy.
"It's fine," she said, giving him a smile. "I'm just glad you're back now. "I can agree with that." He let go of Winry for a moment to stretch, muscles feeling just slightly sore. "I think I've been on so many trains, I could tell you how to freakin' build one. Jeez!" The almost feline-like yellow eyes looked around the house cautiously. "....That dog anywhere around here?" Winry unwove her arms from around Envy, and smiled at his comment on trains. She thought she could build one, too...but like the sin, she too hated trains. She couldn't understand how Edward and Alphonse put up with them so much.
"He's somewhere around here..." she answered him, looking around. "I think he ran off or something. The Sin resisted the urge to give a relieved sigh, so he simply settled for a shrug. "Good. Animals always have it out for me." He looked around, a small curious frown on his lips, before he turned to Winry. "I thought that your grandmother was supposed to be back by now. It's been two weeks." "Yeah, she called me about two days ago to tell me she wouldn't be back for another month or so." But Pinako had conviently left out why.
Winry had been to Rush Valley before--the engineer's mecca, in more accurate words. She'd actually gotten jealous of her grandmother for a moment there, but had brushed it off. Envy blinked and tilted his head to the side. "I see...." Suddenly, realization made itself known and the homunculus smirked, looking slightly evil. "So..." He took a step towards Winry. "You and me..." Another step. "Have this whole house..." The smirk widened and there went another step. "All to ourselves." He stopped, chest just a few inches from her's. His eyes glittered playfully. "What to do, I wonder?" Winry blinked as he continued to take several steps closer to her, before she batted her eyelashes several times playfully.
"Just what do you suggest we do?" She put on a smirk on her own face, glancing up at Envy expectingly. OOoh, he liked this. He definetly liked this. He put his arms around her waist and pulled her close, leaning his face down to her ear. "Just.../Fun/ things..." he whispered into her ear, one hand reaching up to twirl a few blond strands around a finger. "I could come up with a whole list, if you wanted me to..." Yep, he definetly liked the Rockbell house better then he did traveling around everywhere. One of the mechanic's arms hooked around his neck, while the other placed itself on his chest. The smirk on her face widened a bit at his words and she turned to look at Envy.
"Let's start with what's on the top of your list," she said, her grip around him becoming tighter as she said this. Yeah. Definetly liked this. Envy's smirk widened and he pulled the mechanic up to him. "Well, if you insist," he murmured, kissing her. One of the things he had missed most about her. She was just so warm and even the thought of that had kept him content. Especially in Central. Freakin' rainy Central. Winry felt herself kissing him back, the hand that had been placed on his chest slipping down onto his stomach slowly, as if taunting him.
At this moment, she realized how much she had really missed him...which was, to sum it all up, alot. She knew that was a fact. Damn. She was affectionate when it wasn't raining or she had been kidnapped. Envy smiled into the kiss and n!bbled on her lower lip, one hand running along her back. He loved her. Even though he had already come to terms with such a thing, it still felt wonderful to know that it was he, ENVY, that she was kissing and that she knew it, too. She knew they were in love, and not just something fake. A pleasant chill ran up her spine as she parted her lips, allowing him entry. She felt her tongue slide into his mouth, letting it explore it.
She couldn't remember another time she'd ever felt like this over someone. And she knew, that he was the only one for her. Envy felt himself smirk in pleasure as she opened her mouth and ran his own tongue along her's. And to imagine...He would never be in such a situation and one that he so thoroughly enjoyed if he hadn't been bossed into going on that silly little kidnapping mission. He reminded himself, as he ventured his hand lower on Winry's back, to sincerely thank the psychotic hag for making him to such an errand. Back when she had first met Envy when he had kidnapped her, she'd hated him. First of all because, most obviously, he'd just snatched her out of her home...and not for pleasant reasons.
And yet, here she was, deeply in love with him. Funny how things could turn out, eh? She let the arm that was hooked around his neck travel down to his chest.
