Envy turned away, raising a hand in a small wave as he went for the door at a lazy pace. "Then don't let me bug you. Ciao." Winry gave a small nod. As he left, she heard the door swing shut behind him. It didn't take a long time to realize she was sleepy...therefore, she predicted sleep would be a good thing right about now, so, that's what she ended up doing.
Meanwhile, golden eyes were locked onto the huge mansion. So...this was where they had Winry, then? He frowned at the mansion, thoughts running through that blonde head of his. He hadn't even known how long his mechanic had been stuck there. A day? A week? He'd only heard of this today.
Edward scratched the back of his head, glare still intent on the manor. He had to do it, that was for certain. But how? He knew Envy had to be there. He had to be. And that homunculus really had it out for him, too. Envy didn't even have the chance to get back to his room. His head tilted to the side as he frowned at the sight of the familiar sin quickly approaching him. "I thought you had an errand?" he asked in a low voice, as not to disturb the girl in the other room. Lust just smiled. "I finished it. I was to spy on the Fullmetal brat.Thought you should know he's here." Envy felt pure adrenaline rush through his body and he smiled cruely, body shivering with excitement. /Excellent!/ "Where is he?" "Just outside the mansion. He'll be in the ballroom soon." Lust watched the shapeshifter change, dark green hair turning blond and violet eyes turning bright blue. A perfect imitation of the Rockbell girl looked up at her, bruises littering one arm and a small cut on her cheek. Edward took several more moments staring at the mansion. One lively mansion, in the middle of an abandoned city--which could only mean one thing.
Shoving the thoughts out of his head, he returned to his more important problem. Sighing, he placed his auto-mail arm on the gold doorknocker and pulled, stepping through the entry way.
...This was going to be hard. Lust's heels clacked against the floor as she quickly made her way to the largest room in the building, dragging a worn looking and limping "Winry" by the wrist. She stepped into the room just in time to see the front doors swing open. She smiled. Time to get down to business. She let the doppleganger drop to the ground on 'her' knees, giving a rather convincing whimper as 'her' flesh made contact with the hard floor. "Why, hello there, Fullmetal."
Edward blinked as Winry dropped down. He glanced down at 'her,' being cautious. After all, you never know what these homunculi could come up with.
"Winry?" He asked, almost hesitantly. It could've been Envy...but, he didn't know...it was sounding pretty convincing. And it looked just like her, too....
He glanced up at Lust as he heard his military name be stated. His eyes narrowed as he looked at the black-haired sin. "I think we both know what I've come here for. "Winry" looked up at Edward, normally bright and cheerfully eyes wide and starting to fill with tears. "Ed! Get out of here, they're g-" The words died in the 'girl's' throat as two dagger-like claws sliced through the hair dangerously close to both sides of her neck. Lust sent a withering glare at her 'captive', although she was inwardly smirking. "Quiet, stupid girl." She sent a mocking smile over to Ed. "And, yes, I do know. You came for your little girlfriend here, right? Such a shame, too...Envy had such fun playing with her. Wrath would almost have killed her, had I not stepped in." Her eyes glittered dangerously. "And I think we both know what /we/ want you to do for us."
Edward took a step forward as Lust's nails came close to 'Winry's' neck. He opened his mouth to say something before Lust cut in, and he merely shut it, eyes getting even more smaller, if it were possible by this point.
He frowned. Yes, he knew, of course. It was the main reason they'd been pesting him throughout the years...the main reason he had so many enimies.
"And just why do you think I should do it? I can walk out of here with her without a problem, it's not like you're in my way. Lust tossed the blond alchemist a smirk, the two elongated nails next to Winry's neck tapped on the floor. "You could certainly try, if you wanted to. But reflect on this little thought..." A nasty smile. "Do you really think you could get to her in time to stop my nails from removing her head from her body?" The fake Winry shivered in 'fear', gazing up at Ed imploringly. "Ed," 'she' whimpered, a few tears making their way out of 'her' eyes and slipping down her cheeks. "Ed, help. I-I'm afraid of dying, Ed." Lust just tapped her nails again. "So, want to gamble your friend's life, Fullmetal?" Ed let out an irritated huff of breath, staring down at 'Winry', then back at Lust. He really was in a spot, wasn't he? He knew Lust's nails could travel much faster much faster than he could if he dared to try.
He snarled, looking up at Lust as he crossed his arms. There had to be another way. He wasn't going to let 'Winry' die, but he wasn't going to make the stone. Lust frowned at Ed, nails twitching in impatience. They were so close...So very very close. This stupid boy just had to agree and they'd be done with the whole thing. But he just had to be stubborn, didn't he? "It's not that hard of a decision, Fullmetal brat. Make the stone and be given your friend back, or refuse and watch her die." Edward continued to only glare. But then a thought occured to him...Lust wouldn't just kill Winry, would she? Because then she would have no more leavrage against him.
Even then, it seemed like a risky chance to take. He'd been in this prediciment before, when Alphonse had been captured by Greed. Lust frowned, getting quite annoyed now. The Elric sure was stubborn... Who knew how long it would be until he agreed to to what they wanted him to? And if Lust tried to kill Envy, he'd undoubtedly get ticked off at her... Well, that was what Plan Bs were for, right? She removed her nails from 'Winry's' neck, raising them as if to slash at the girl fataly. "Last chance, Fullmetal." As soon as Lust had raised her nails, the Alchemist pulled out something from his pocket and dove for the nails. He ducked as he attached the locet to Lust's fingers, narrowly avoiding having the nails slice through his head.
Out of the way, he stood up straight, a small smirk on his face. Now, she couldn't even move. That damn, cunning little brat! Lust felt her body stiffen, refusing to move at all. She felt a snarl rise to her lips as 'Winry' scrambled to her feet and rushed over to Ed, clinging to one of his arms and staring wide eyed at Lust. In truth, if he could have, he would have burst out laughing and pointing at Lust. Hey, she let her guard down, right? But no, this was Envy, the ever diligent actor, so he simply stuck with the afraid human routine. Envy looked down at 'Winry' and took her wrist, heading for the doorway of the mansion. "Come on." He didn't want to stick around before even more of them showed up. Then, he'd truly be in trouble.
He took rather slow steps, as if thinking something bad were going to happen any second now. As if one of them would pop up out of no where. As Ed looked away from him, Envy let out a nasty grin. Oooh, was that a totally stupid and defenseless alchemist he just saw? He believed it was. Time to get the stupid little brat while his guard was practically nonexistant. He slipped his wrist out of Ed's grasp while his other hand grabbed Ed's throat. "Oh, I don't think so, you little runt," he purred, still in Winry's form. Ed blinked and stopped. His only movement was a small smirk appearing on his lips. "So it turns out I was right, wasn't I?" He said, and clapped his hands. He ran his human hand along his auto-mail arm so it transformed into a blade with a flash of blue light.
Whirling around, he aimed his bladed arm for Envy's stomach, Winry's form not fazing him. He knew Winry wouldn't do that.
That just brought up another problem. Where was the real Winry, then? He'd been expecting that. After all, the shrimp had such a horrible habit of somehow making his future movements known, whether it be yelling at his opponent or even that small little smirk. He moved his body to the side, blade just narrowly missing his side. "Awww, what's wrong, Fullmetal runt?" he purred, aiming a kick at his side almost casually. "Not glad to see me? And I went through the trouble of using your girlfriend's form too." He gave a nasty smirk, hopping back a few steps. "Shame she didn't last longer, ne?" A very nice lie that he managed to say like it was the truth.
Edward moved to the side, feeling Envy's foot just miss his side as he glared at the homunculus. He was about to lunge for him again before his last sentence. She didn't last longer...?
His eyes narrowed. "Where is she?" He just knew Winry couldn't be dead. It wouldn't have been like her. Or, maybe Winry was never even there at all. Maybe it was just a trick. "Heh, funny story, that." Envy flashed Edward a careless grin, as if the lie he was about to weave really was funny and true. He gave a few more hops until he was next to Lust, where he tossed the locket around her wrist a curious glance. "I did tell Wrath that we couldn't play with our new little toy too harshly, but I guess the stupid runt just forgot." He shrugged, smirking. "Bright side of things is that Gluttony got another meal for the day." Now, Envy was just toying around with his mind, as he always did, right? He had to be. You could never trust homunculi. But then again...he did sound convincing...
Shaking the thought out of his head, he shouted at the sin. "You're lying to me now! You know damn well she isn't dead! Envy burst out laughing, one arm curled around his stomach and the other covering some of his mouth as he laughed at Edward. It took a few seconds to 'regain his composure'. He smiled nastily at Ed. "Whatever will help you sleep at night," he jeered, hands on his hips. "But, you know, maybe it'll be better this way. I look forward to seeing the face you make when you find out the stupid little girl really /is/ dead." Which would never happen, as he was lying and Winry was really alive. He gestured wildly, hands swinging to the sides as he grinned malicously at Ed. "Why do you think I'm here, Fullmetal? For kicks? The reason we didn't just drag out the stupid girl is because she's currently in Gluttony's stomach." He smirked and plucked the locket off Lust's wrist. The female homunculus jumped back, glaring daggers at the small object. Edward stiffened up for a moment, listening to Envy's every word. He hardly realized it when he flicked the locket off of Lust--that was the least of his worries. Winry wasn't dead. He would search the whole house up and down before he agreed.
It was a few moments before he looked at Lust, watching the homunculus hop back. Well...that had worked. For the moment. This was bad. Two homunculi after him...well, at least nobody else was here.
"Then if you killed her, why should I create your stupid stone for you? You have nothing against me now. Lust felt herself freeze up as a psychotic grin spread across Envy's face. Oh crap, this was not good....She just knew what was going to happen next. "Oooh, and that's the part I like the best, pipsqueek!" Envy's harsh violet eyes narrowed eagerly. "I'm just going to have to beat you until you cooperate, now won't I? Or we could go after that tin can brother of yours first..." He lunged forward, fist pulled back. "But I like the first idea better." Edward ducked, rolling to the side but getting up just as quickly. "I'm not making that stone. I thought I've already told you that, or am I just mistaken?" He narrowed his eyes as he took a step closer to the sin.
He lunged for the green-haired homunculus, blade aiming for his chest. He knew it wouldn't be enough to kill him, but to even hurt him would work. Envy stepped to the side, evading Ed's attack yet again and laughing tauntingly as he did so. "Oh, you'll change your mind when that automail arm of yours is torn off and your flesh leg is broken." He aimed a wind mill kick at at the alchemist's head, content to know that, sooner or later, he'd hit Edward where it would count. Sooner or later... Edward blink. He'd forgotten how fast Envy could be. He soared backwards as the sin's foot made contact with the side of his head, causing it to pound. He snarled, only jumping up again. He was not going to let Envy beat him.
Even if he was feeling a little dizzy from the force of the blow, he pushed himself on, this time aiming a kick for Envy's face.
