It was still quite early in the morning as the sun slowly crept through the blinds on Merri's windows. She groaned and rolled over trying to avoid the light , being allergic to the UV lights from the sun you don't exactly wanna be buddy buddy with the sun. As she tried to go back asleep she heard the usual early morning noises, her father carving at his desk , her mother cooking them breakfast, and that damn hamster running in her cage.

The auroma (sp?) of coffee, eggs, and bacon slowly made their way into Merri's room. Now most people would love the smell of food in the morning ,but not Merri. Oh no. She hated the smell of anything really first thing she woke up. Ever since she was young the moment she smelled anything that displeased her nostrils she would begin to gag or even vomit.

Slowly Merri dragged herself out of bed ,making her way to the fan in the far corner, and turned it on. Immediatley she felt better yet colder. Sleeping in a shirt was nice ,but not for taking morning strolls. Quickly she climbed back into bed and curled up in her lovely ,white, goose feather filled blanket.

"Ahh much better...." Merri yawned and slowly fell back asleep.


Later that day , around noon, Merri finally emerged from her room. Everyone ,except her sister , were out and about doing their random things. Most likely her parents went for a drive, took the dog to the park, or went to get groceries. Merri made her way to the kitchen were her mother ,or father, had left the butter out. She looked inside the tub and saw some gross yellow looking fluid floating on top of the butter.

"Yuck..." Merri nearly gagged "How difficult is it to lift this thing and put in back in the fridge?" Merri did the harsh labor of putting the butter back into the fridge. As she was about to pull out the milk the phone began to rang. Well since her sister hated talking to anyone really Merri ran to the phone.

"Hello?"

"Hey wassup?" A familiar voice said.

"Oh hey Victoria, hows it going?" Merri said with little enthusiam in her voice , conversations with her best friend just weren't as fun since she decided to become a party girl.

"Nothing much just bored , Guess what only one more week and I'm not grounded anymore! Oh yeah oh yeah." Victoria squeeled as she did a little dance.

"Thats great , you going to learn from your mistake and not get caught comming home drunk?" Merri forced a fake laugh as she rolled her eyes to Victoria's reply.

"Yeah don't come home so late and make sure my parents think I'm spending the night somewhere so I don't have to come home messed up." Victoria just laughed.

"Thats great oh shoot listen I'm cooking myself breakfast over here and its going to burn if I don't get back to it, I'll call you late though ok? Bye." Before Victoria began to respond Merri already went to hang up the phone.

"Ok talk to you later. Love you." Victoria quickly said before she was cut off.

Merri couldn't help but feel angry. Victoria was doing all this stupid "look at me I'm so cool." stuff and yet she still told Merri she loved her everytime they talked on the phone. Yet someone she was always there for , supported, and did so much for couldn't even write it down on a damn Valentines Day card.

Her stomach began to growl so Merri went back to the kitchen and pulled out a bowl from one of the cupboards. It was cold cereal again for breakfast and she wondered if Victoria would ever figure out that she never cooks in the morning.
