NOTE: This basically is a rambling vent entry. So you may ignore it if you so wish
I have just spent the last two hours or so at the movies seeing The Phantom of the Opera and though I totally loved it but I couldnt help but see that this world really is nothing but a sugar coated reality and yet all people seem to do is just blame it on the media somehow when they could help solve the problem themselves.
After watching poor Erik get beaten I just couldnt help but think how many other 'deformed' people are out there that get picked on and even beaten every single day. We dont need to have that happen, we dont need to allow that in our world but everytime that one person is verbally or physically abused it is just adding to the problem.
How can a person beat another living human just because he is 'deformed' in some way? We are not perfect yet by beating another human who is 'deformed' is basically telling them that the 'normal' ones are the perfect humans and that means that they have to do as we say.
Its wrong to treat someone who is different like they are lesser then the 'perfect' humans and yet it happens every day. Wether it be just a quick snide comment or not it is still adding to the problem and feelings get hurt. Then after thats calmed down we get people trying to cover up the fact that such a person even exsists in this world because of how different he or she looks.
How can people who treat people horribly be called 'human'? Belittling people and shoving them to the side and calling them names or abusing them isnt what we were placed on this world to do. We all have faults that we dont like and so picking on another because he is a 'hunchback' or has burns on his face or is overweight or uses crutches arnt any different then you and I so why are they picked on?
We all have blood running through our vaines, we all breath the same air, we all have to share this earth so why do something to others you wouldnt like others doing to you?
I know this will go on for years...centuries....millenia of hating others for their 'deformities' but cant we at least try to cut this out of the world? Cant we at least start to treat others with kindness and respect and not like we are scared of them? Why be scared of the unknown when you can learn whats wrong with them and grasp the knowledge of why they are like they are.
We all live in this world, the least we can do is get along with each other instead of picking on the imperfections of the human race and not just ignoring them or getting to know them.
