It's been a very quiet week. My son's chin healed very well and I can't even tell it was cut. The inside of his mouth healed in a few days, a week for the outside. (See previous journal entry).

I took my granddaughter (#4) shopping for her birthday. She found a tank top with ribbon and lace, a rock necklace, rhinestone studded mechanical pencil, charm necklace, bracelets & candy. We had fun looking around the mall. I sure got my exercise. That's novel--exercise while on my own feet--as opposed to the horses' feet.

I ordered turnout blankets for both horses, a new curry/wash comb, a padded seat and buckles for my saddle, and some medication and bandages for cuts (horses). That should make the cold wet nights more comforable for them and the ride more comfortable for me. I still need a bit. I don't know how I lost the other one. Since I got them when they were 4 and 6 months old, I have several sizes of bits. There's no end to the things you need (or want) for horses. I miss them on the days I can't go and see them. I sure would like a new saddle--one with a deep cantle, heavily padded, and light weight, among other things. I'd like a green saddle blanket for scarlet and a light brown leather saddle with silver conchos for Tara with a light brown saddle blanket. But I have two good saddles. I bought a dark leather western one with lots of carvings about 8 years ago in a repair shop in Wyoming and about the same time a dark brown leather English saddle. They still look good, especially when I clean them, but the western one is very heavy. The third one is black and very light weight made with leather and a heavy fabric. It's the most comfortable and easiest for me to use. It's harder for me to stop shopping for my horses than it is for me to stop buying clothes for myself. All I need are jeans, t-shirts. or sweat shirts. Although Jenji chewed up my good boots, but I use my tennis shoes.

There was a full moon out tonight or very close to it. You could see your shadow very clearly and even I could see the trail. It was a cool and very peaceful moonlight ride. We could see the city lights a few miles away, a clear sky. and a moonlit lake. Scarlet and Tara were both very well behaved and no coyotes in sight. A friend went out on trail with us and a few more joined us in the arena when we got back to the stables.

Last weekend a friend (about 15 yrs. old) showed Scarlet in the halter class in a schooling show. Scarlet looked so nice with her shiny red coat, sparkling white stockings and painted black hooves. This friend bathed her, clipped hairs, and groomed her. They got a ribbon. She wrote me a thank you note and drew a picture of Scarlet for me. She's a very thoughtful and caring person and loves horses. She also works at the stables, but doesn't have a horse of her own yet.

Oh yes. Gaia released some new clothes. I really like the torn long black and white dresses. I bought a necklace to go with them. I already had a bracelet. I have long white gloves, but I want some black ones too. I met a friend on Gaia that writes poems. He's suppose to send me another one. Oh yes, I'm a were wolf tonight--you know--the full moon. dramallama
