It's been a long time since I came here to write, but I thought this was the best place to write out the long, wish-fulfilling dream I had last night. Maybe someday you'll read it and you'll know.

I dreamt I went to Chantelle's and Brittany's place. It was kind of like the old place, but more like my dream version. We were all friendly, like old times. We hung out in their room. We were all lying on one bed though. It'd been five years since we last spoke, so we had a lot of catching up to do. They were still in school, which I also saw at some point, but it looked like a high school, and I think it was. I tried to catch them up on all the trips I'd had in the last five years. For some reason I had gone to Toronto twice, and not the one time I actually went.

Then other characters started showing up. I think their parents were coming home or something. And they had a friend who was coming over I think. Chantelle ended up leaving, if not to get something outside then for school. After going to the school and everything, I remember Chantelle was taking a shower and Brittany and I were going to have a snack. There was a massive spice rack in the kitchen. Wood frame reaching the floor up to my shoulders. We ended up sitting around again, though I think this time we were in the living room.

Their brother came. I don't think they actually have a brother. He was close in age to them, maybe a year younger. He sat down on a chair and I told them I'd forgotten they had a brother.

I think something was nagging at me and I wanted to talk to Chantelle more, on my own. So we went to go talk in the living room. But my mom was there. She was lying down on the sofa, which was actually a bed, the way she does lie down in our living room. We were going to sit on the floor and talk. And then I made a call. I called my dad, but someone from the hospital answered.

And I think that's when I woke up.

I woke up without a phone next to me since I hadn't planned on going to bed when I did. I just wanted to lie down a bit while I played on my switch, but I was way too tired.

It was bound to happen, that I'd end up thinking about the two girls again, one of whom used to be my very best friend in the whole world. Until some jealous fiend took it upon themselves to see that our friendship would end.

Anyway. I had been thinking and maybe wishing I could see them again or at least talk to them. But even though we live in the same country, under the same sky, it's unlikely it would happen again. Especially now that everyone's getting on with their lives. I don't know what either of them is up to and how could I know? But I'm moving on, and quite literally moving, to Tokyo. Not today, not very soon, but as soon as I can.

Alex is my best friend now. And things are perfect between us. The only thing that causes my heart aching is how far apart we are, and how unoften we get to see each other. It's actually kind of funnny, not just our whole friendship, but the whole scene where we met and became friends. Not to mention all the inside jokes and crazy happenings from the four-day trip we had two years ago.

But that's for another time.
