Adventures of a Barton Regular
Hey it's Calvin! I'll be updating my journal with random scenes and adventures I may have witnessed or participated in!
The Trials...
So, under Balthazar's nose, but with permission from Commander Leon, we recruited a new Regular! His name is Artemio! Lawrence has given me full responsibility to train him up to be the best he can be. We mesh pretty well. Considering how Balthazar has been making me feel, this has actually brightened me up exponentially. Artemio is kind of like a brother to me now. Okay okay. I'm going on and on. . .

I was tasked with giving him a few tasks to ensure he earns his place as a Regular. It's a complicated task to be honest. I tried to look at what Balthazar and Lawrence do. I know Balthazar likes to make new recruits get one hundred Airshark gift boxes all by themselves. I'm pretty sure his second task involves defeating the Lawnsharks, his third I believe is taking on Buzzkill alone and surviving, and I don't know his fourth one. Lawrence I'm not too sure about, but I just think Balthazar's are more about resilience and patience. While those to me are good qualities for a Regular, I just feel like he's missing the point. If I said that though, it'd be game over for me.

Anyway, I decided to make five tasks for my trainee to go through. Number one, take on the task of playing each musical number in the graveyard in Deadman's Pass. Then I had him take on the clutches, with some assistance. I had him follow me to assist someone through Bass'ken, Gold Beach, Buccaneer Boardwalk, the Otami Ruins, and the Old Aqueduct as well, but that was just a walkthrough, despite the fact he helped her along the way. He will need to face Buzzkill, but I won't let him do that alone. That's just madness for a normal person. Finally, he's going to do Hive World. I chose these for very different reasons. The musical numbers give an appreciation to the arts and teaches patience. It takes time to learn those. The clutches teach the value of wise ring choices. With how empty the Zen Gardens tend to be, I felt like it was a good call. Helping people isn't a task, but it teaches my value of helping those who may need more help than earnings. Buzzkill is going to be a lesson in resilience, teamwork, and trust. If you can't trust your fellow Regulars, that's a problem. Hive World is going to be an accumulation of all these things. I just feel like that's a perfect end. I know I'll get ripped a new one by Balthazar for these tasks, but I'm happy with them and Artemio has proven his worth to me already and he hasn't even completed all of my tasks yet. I trust him with my life...
