-testemony first draft-
I'm Kyle from Marysville, and I'm here in favor of HJM 4004.
I've heard from those opposed, and I'm not going to attribute any ill intent to them, I doubt very much that Soros paid them to be here. I've heard their fear that leftists are going to try to make America socialist via an amendment, or that radical right wingers will slip their agenda in. I understand, because as the saying goes 'if it ain't broke don't fix it'. And they may think things are fine now, so fine that half the country agreed when Donald Trump said 'What the hell do you have to lose?'. Because the status is not quo. While nothing is without risk, I know that if we throw up our hands and give up then we lose.
Change can be scary, but to hear them talk about it they sound like we are about to light the house on fire. I would like to remind everyone that whatever a convention proposes will need to be ratified by 3/4ths of the states. Suppose then that they are right and they do light the house on fire... then we merely need to not buy that house.
Some of you may have ambitions for higher office, and so I would direct your attention to sad, phone banking Ted Cruz. If we don't get money out of politics this will be your fate, calling donors to raise money.
