love takes two,
but you walked out on the tab

so i'm sitting here staring at what's left in my glass,
drinking it slow and watching the time pass.

i keep hoping you'll come back for me,
but you've gotten in a taxi with a stranger for the 10th time this week.

when did love mean sitting alone,
hoping the bartender doesn't realize you're reaping what you sow.

don't come back this time around,
love takes two but i paid the tab on my own.

used what was left in the piggy bank
and now it'll take 21 years to pay for a liquor that high on the shelf again.
