4. Discussion
Although our study was not primarily power calculated for the predictability of a combination of biochemical markers, we are reflex arc not systematically underpowered to find a significant difference in AUC compared to the best result of a single marker (AUC = 0.646). If there had been a larger discriminating effect of the combination (AUC = 0. cool , as expected, the numbers of osteoporotic (n = 24) and non-osteoporotic (n = 70) postmenopausal women would be sufficient to yield a power of 76.7%.
