Facebook has done for the internet exactly what Jerry Springer did for television!!! We are now inundated with garbage on TV because Jerry Springer played to the lowest common denominator and they liked it. Facebook is exactly the same. People the know they will never meet threaten each other with violence. Children are stalked by predatory adults, cyberbullying is rampant and drama reigns supreme.
If you see a notice about a missing child on FACEBOOK chances are it's fake, this is bad for two reasons. A it is a waste of your time and energy if you become concerned about it, and B it is desensitizing the population so that when a real alert does manage to get to FACEBOOK it gets ignored. So instead of being the good thing it could it becomes the worst thing it can be.
