The long road of beginings.
Don't trust...Don't trust...Don't trust...Don't trust...Don't trust...HIM! He didn't know why his mind screamed warning at him, but those red stones birthed a hunger he'd never had. There was no shame in devouring what would save his life right? Wrong, so very wrong. The ebony stone gateway loomed above him; the carved relief of writhing shapes upon the doors making him ill. Yet there was a feeling of grim acceptance, as if everything had led up to this very moment in time. The low screech of the doors parting to bear him beyond echoed forever in the white space. Why wasn't he fighting this? Why didn't anyone save him?! Somehow the mass got the feeling he had only himself to blame for that lonely death. The other, the brackish haired beast was like he was. Somehow the thing could feel that and quietly he managed to inch forward to nuzzle the other as best as he could. The pale beast stiffened slightly, while the unknown murmured softly the ripple of those muscles striking a cord deep within. What that cord was he didn't know, but as the other opened his hand the thing ceased to care. The red crystals tasted wonderful, he could feel their power spreading through him washing away the pain. For some reason the malformed thing had the feeling they were rearranging things as well. It wasn't his place to know, so for now he wouldn't worry about it.

Envy observed the thing as it ate from his hand. It seemed to still distrust him in some fashion, but why he still didn't know. The sin sighed softly and rubbed his temples, a frown sliding across his features. The new homunculus was starting to remember its human form, the displaced limbs had moved just the tiniest fraction. That wasn't what bothered the man. Not by a long shot, he was trying to consider how to carry the thing out of here without hurting it. A cloak would cover the disgusting mess and keep his skin clean. There was no way he was getting pus on him again; nope, no way. It was bad enough last time. Shoving aside the gross images threatening to tick him off and make him sick, the sin scanned the area. That's when he spotted the one thing Al hadn't been able to bare to take; the familiar crimson coat. Envy stared at it, his violet eyes widening slightly and jaw dropped just a fraction. How did the coat of the Fullmetal short s**t wind up here? Unless... This was not something the man wanted to think about, or he'd really be ill. The shape shifter rose to his half socked feet quietly setting the bag of stones down for the thing, ignoring the happy churs it made in reply. Like a man possessed the sin strode over to the coat and lifted it slowly. The scent of Edward Elric whispered from the fabric, it was hours old, but still fresh. This solved his problem in what to cover the thing in, but didn't solve the identity of it. I hope.

The androgynous inhuman sin sighed softly as he strode over to where the new sin had devoured all the stones. Without pausing, he swept it up in the coat its squeals of protest and surprise ignored in favour of movement.

What the hell?! This stranger was picking him up! That wasn't right. He could move on his own! But as the thing squealed and whined a familiar scent washed over his senses soothing his struggles. The red fabric the beast had wrapped him in smelled of two people. For the life of him he couldn't remember who they were. But they had been important to him. The malformed creature curled into the other's arms, the cool refreshing kiss of the rain washing away the blood that had caked his body. He felt like the rain was washing away his previous life that he couldn't recall. As the rain beat down on them both. an image came to mind bubbling up from the darkness of the past. He hit his hands to the wall in frustration as the cool water beat down on his small frame. Sungold tresses were held back in a braid that rested on the back of his crimson coat, the familiar black underjacket covering the ebony tanktop, the dark pants with the large belt buckle, and those boots crimson and ebony... Had he looked differently than he did now? Why had he been before that terrifying Gate? Why had no one come to save him? So many questions came and went like shooting stars. None of them were to be answered quite yet. They spiraled downward into the fog he could not rip open. There had been a life before this one he knew this by now. This coat had been, had been... Had been my coat.

The knowledge hit the creature like a blow to the back of the head. It screeched and tried to claw at its head with its distorted limbs. But all that occured was useless flailing about. The thing felt empty suddenly as if it had something and had lost it. The image of that same young man rose as clear as day in his mind's eye; a carefree smile lit with emotion and molten eyes that burned with something he didn't have. The name eluded him. but those eyes, hair, and smile he knew them well.

It had been okay till the thing suddenly squealed and started flailing its unnaturally bent arms. The sin made a noise of surprise and restrained it carefully with the folds of the coat. The way the creature squealed sounded almost like soft sobs, was it recalling its previous life that quickly?
