Book of Nero
This is my journal. I am Nero! c:
The Ballad of the Brightest Eyes
Scene one. The hero walks with his head held low, he misses all the things he had before. For months, he wanders with nothing in his heart, until one day he happens upon a small town.
Scene two. The town is a wonderful place. It's like heaven on earth to the hero... he meets so many people, and has so many experiences. Every day is an adventure, for so long...
Scene three. The hero has forgotten his days of wandering. He's home... he's surrounded by new friends. He loves them. They're his family, in this place, which is so, so beautiful. His eyes are so bright... so full of dreams.
Scene four. Just when life can't get better, the hero meets a girl. He falls in love with her almost instantly, and she falls for him just as fast. She's like nothing he ever expected in life. She's all he's ever wanted.
Scene five. The hero is so alive... he's surrounded by wonderful friends and he's deeply in love, in this place he now calls home. Every day is a new story...
Scene six. The town is in danger. Everyone is leaving... the hero is devastated, but he finds himself. He makes his way to all of his friends, and they swear to never fall apart and lose one another.
Scene seven. The town is in ashes... everyone was separated. The hero can't find his girl. Where has she gone? She left on purpose.... will she come back? Why did she leave?
Scene eight. The hero settles in another town. This place... it's ugly. The people are rude and unseemly. They all agreed to meet here... so the hero waits in this forsaken place.
Scene nine. Months go by... the girl hasn't returned. A few of his friends have, but they visited briefly and left again, they treated him as though they hardly even ever knew him. The hero is devastated... he swears she'll come back. Their love was like nothing the world had ever seen...
Scene ten. The hero wanders in search of her. He finally finds her, under a name he never knew- her real name. He peers through the building he was told to find her in, and he sees her sitting in the lap of another man. Her lips meet with the man's...
Scene eleven. The hero wandered, like a soulless shell back to the ugly town which was now his home. He sits... and he looks back. Now, she was gone. She was a liar to begin with... what they had was all a beautiful, beautiful lie. All of his friends are gone. His home is gone.
Scene twelve. The hero is empty. He's dead inside. He has nothing left... the brightness in his eyes has been drained. There are no more dreams in his head, they were all replaced by cynical thoughts. He lives in pain...
Scene thirteen. The hero lays down on the ground, weak with sadness. Finally, repressed tears pool in his eyes, as he listens to nostalgic music that reminds him of everything he once had, which had all burned to the ground. A few of his old friends come to this ugly place every now and then... but they're not who they once were. Some hardly even remember the hero... but they all leave, in the end.
Scene fourteen. The hero sits up. With eyes full of nothing, he wanders "home", to the same quiet, dark room. A flashback plays of all the happy scenes in his life, as he listens to that music...
Scene fifteen. The hero dies in this scene. He eases himself into the bathtub, which is dry and not filled with water. His clothes are still on, as he stares at the wall, in the silence. Where did they all go? He wonders this... does she even know what she's done to his heart? She never even said goodbye. The hero tilts his head back, popping off the lid of a prescription bottle. One pill, for the misery he felt before he found that place... another, for the town he found. Two pills, for the people he met, and then three more, because he'd lost every one of them. Three more pills because the one thing he wanted in his life was a horrible lie, and was sitting in the lap of another man right now, half unclothed. He opened his mouth, tilting the bottle as the rest of the pills poured in. With a big swallow, the hero closes his eyes, waiting for the pain to go away... as he desired, he never opens them again.
