The Stone Dragon Princess
"You will forever be trapped within this castle, your body cast in stone for the damage your kin has brought upon us." The sorcerer declared as Alaine felt her body slowly turn to stone. Her brilliant white luster of scales turning to marble of whites and blues. Tears ran down her face as she slowly watched the spell creep up her body freezing her in place atop the alter. She had never done anything personally to deserve this tormenting fate, but the rest of her kind had. Letting out a cry of agony, she begged for mercy and freedom from the sorcerer and this horrid place, but there was only hate in the man's eyes.
"Is it not enough that I am the last of the dragon kin, but to entrap me in stone for an eternity knowing such after I have done no wrong?!" Alaine cried out, begging him to see reason as the stone continued to creep up her body, now her tail was frozen as the sorcerer smiled at her evilly.
"No... I should kill you now, but the King still wishes for you to remain alive... in case there is need of you in the future." The cruel man walked forward and slowly pulled out a jeweled necklace placing it around her throat. In a perfect fit, it snapped around her neck more like a collar than anything else and caused a deep growl to come from her throat as he said the last, "With this collar, I bind you to eternal service of the King's family. For whoever wear's this bracelet, you must do exactly as they command." He lifted up the bracelet and showed it to her, it was made with a beautiful yellow gold, intricately carved into looking like a dragon and in place of the eyes were blue sapphires the same color of her eyes.
As the stone began to overcome her head she tipped back her head and let out a roar of outrage. It was cut off though as soon as the last piece of her nose was turned into the same blue white marble that made up her entire body. Centuries would pass before the family would call upon her aid though, be it a thief that stole the armband, or one of the King's ancestors that would come to her for help in a last ditch effort to save their Kingdom. Alaine knew not how long she would have to wait for someone to rescue her from her stone prison, but she only hoped that it would happen.
