I can't tell if I hate or love when new characters arrive. On one hand, it means adding more rooms onto the house. And the house is big enough already. On the other, I can't say I hate anyone here, so I don't want them all gone. Of course, then there's the chaos... Some of the new arrivals are fine, like Cairrine and Atepa and Faethe. Or Lauren, Faethe's husband Jovan. Lauren's a little crazy, but not too bad. Jovan's eccentric and... odd, but he's not usually in the way. He mostly spends his time on his designs. There's Nita, who's so incompetent she always ends up making a mess of things, poor girl. And then... There's Taryn.

Taryn just looks like trouble. From her spiky hair to her near-permanent mischievous look she has to the crazy outfits she gets from Jovan. She's forever trying to catch any of the criminals in the house and turn them in for bounty. She got Keaira so angry that Keaira tried to shoot a bolt of magic at her. Taryn flew up and away, and there's now a large scorch mark on the ceiling. How am I supposed to clean that up? Both, of course, were unapologetic. As punishment, I shrunk Taryn down and set Myst loose on her. Taryn was terrified, and the cat had fun. I think Taryn learned her lesson, for now at least.

Nita, poor girl, usually sticks with Atepa. Most people are afraid of her, and with good reason, I guess. Though both of them are reapers, Atepa's far better about putting the mark of death on the right people. Nita, well... I know she's only a level one reaper, but she really needs to be more careful. It's not her fault, I guess. She didn't know that old man was within her district.

Jovan and Faethe I can usually find outside, under a tree, by the lake, in the middle of the field, or just wandering around. Jovan insists he's gathering inspiration for his new line of clothes. Faethe just smiles and says she enjoys the outdoors. I can usually get away before Jovan tries to bombard me with details about his designs. I have no idea how Faethe can put up with him. I guess that just goes to show how far a little patience and some love can go.

Lauren's settled into the chaos around here quite nicely. Fortunately- though she's usually in the middle of it- I've never seen her actually add to the chaos. And she's amazingly quick and tidy. In a race with Aminta, she nearly ran into the side table- and the drinks on it. Without even pausing, she flipped over it, hit the ground, and continued the race. She won, by the way.

Cairrine's rather quiet. Well, I mean, she can't talk. So obviously she's quiet. But I noticed she prefers to keep to herself, and to her dog. Especially as of late. I knew she had been getting bombs and threats at her office, but I thought that had been taken care of. I wonder what happened? None of my business, I guess.

Goodness. I hope May takes a very long time before the next batch of characters arrive. Because I'm sure, at one point, they will.
