I've been an adult for a long time now (at least mentally, only 18 ). But if no one recognizes it because I have a younger age, what is the point of even trying to act adult. Acting adult is alot less than what it is made out to be. Actong snooty to anyone younger than you; making people feel inferior; having to go through stupid "shows of might" just to show how good you are and how stupid the person you are showing off to is. It seems that you are always seen as a child no matter how much harder you work, or better you perform, because people refuse to see past age. It is a shame that being old takes away your sight from what really is, and bloats your ego to make you unable to see anything correctly. So to hell with you society, and your tenure. The new generation will kick you off the planet and make one for themselves. I just hope we aren't as big of jackasses (and I fear we will be (alot of people my age don't even realize this)) as the group before us.

On a side note, things like relationships go into this as well. Like when I see someone dating a person two years younger and all the adults scoff and say how stupid that is, but then watch the same adults go off and get married to people seven years younger than themselves. (A.K.A. my own mother) This kind of "acting adult" is useless. Don't cast your judgement on me, filthy hypocrites. Cliche as it is, practice what you preach.

At the end of writing this rant, I realize aot of counter arguements, and actually question this a little bit myself. This is so completely out of my style. I don't want to erase it because it was a legitimate frustration that I felt I had to share, and I know almost no one will read this, but at the same time, I know it's al relative. I'm sure they have their own reason for oppressing outstanding work, which happens often (not necessarily to me, I'm not that conviluted.) I don't know what it is I feel so flustered about, but one day I'll come back to this and definately use it for reference.
