Soooz, what am I ranting about today? Well several things about onexones! W00H00! And then a little bit on pictures x3
So! First off on my onexone rant, people coming to me ^w^ Now, I feel real special and honored when someone comes to me asking me if I want to onexone out of the blue! That means the person stumbled across one of my roleplays, saw my posts, and thought, "Wow, she's good! I want to roleplay with her!" And hey, that makes me feel special! Who wouldn't feel special? Even if the person isn't as literate as I'd like, I still feel special and consider rping with him/her...
But then, we get talking about plots... or I look at his/her onexone search thread... I ask about plots... He/she has nothing in mind! He/she asks me, "Oh I don't know, what do you have in mind?" YOU FREAKING CAME TO ME! I didn't go to you, you came to me asking to roleplay and you don't have ANYTHING in mind for a roleplay plot? You expect me to come up with something when you're the one who came came to me?! WTF! Seriously, WTF! Sure, I don't mind a tentative idea, we can work together to create the plot. I find that the best way to do a onexone with someone you don't know. If you create the plot together, the more likely the roleplay is going to continue for longer than a few days!
Which brings me to the next part of my onexone rant. Disappearing *twitch*
I mean seriously, once again, you were the one that came to me asking to roleplay. So I say, sure! Let's do it! A) we don't even freaking start it! The freaking a-hole just DISAPPEARS! You know, I get excited about starting a new rp and using my new character, or reusing an old character. I love my characters! I love having them develop and interact, I love thinking of all the fun he/she is going to have! And then you just go and disappear, crushing all my fantasies! It SUCKS!
What's even worse then disappearing before it starts? Disappearing AFTER, RIGHT AFTER, the rp starts! Cause then my hopes are totally up and my creative juices are totally running full force... then... nothing T.T It's so saaaaaaad!
Aaaand now ladies and 'gents, we come to the 'and more' part of this rant. It isn't particular to onexones and applies to pretty much all roleplays and roleplayers.
Why the heck does it matter why type of picture I use for my character? Seriously? I don't get how using anime pictures for the characters makes the roleplay an 'anime' roleplay. I'm using American names, aren't I? They're in well, AMERICA. Anime is, hello, Japanese! Just because I like watching anime and use generic anime art-style pictures that are not related to any anime series, does not make the roleplay 'anime.' Did you ever stop to think maybe I use anime pictures because they are easier to find? It's difficult to find real people pics with decent looking people that aren't super famous.
And why are there people who say the only pics you can use are celebrity pics? I mean, that's idiotic! How can I look at those pictures and see your character, not the celebrity? It takes away from the roleplay when everyone is using Robert Patterson, Zac Efron, etc. etc. Sure, it does make gathering multiple pictures to use easier, but why should it matter if I have to work harder to find pictures that aren't celebrities?
So, now, I've come to the conclusion of this... week's...month's...year's...rant! xD Actually quite civil compared to the past two... x3 That makes me happy! So let's recap what I've taught you children, oui? When you ask someone to onexone with you, be sure to at least have a small idea as to what the roleplay will be about. Don't get involved in a rp if you are going to just disappear. And last, but not least, the type of picture one uses for their character should not matter. Pictures are simply there so we do not need to excessively describe our characters. What format the picture in makes no difference, it is simply a shortcut out of using 1000 words. After all, a picture is worth a thousand words!
