Several years later...
"HELP!!" screamed a woman, "Please help my son!!"
"Ugh... Whatever. okay," I said, "Where?"
She ran as quick as she can with the ruins and destruction of Midgar. This is Meteorfall's aftermath.
"Here! Please help my son! Please!" she said. I had nothing to say. He was under a giant wall with limited supplies.
"Move, ma'am," I ordered, and pushed the wall just enough to free the little boy out. As he got out,his mother grabbed him off the ground. Wounded, she cleaned him, and patched him until he wasn't bleeding. With a quick glance, I continued onward to the destination after all the citizens were recovered. With the mother and son almost out of sight, they discovered me leaving the scene. The mother called out to me.
"Hey!! What's your name?"
"Janelle..." I said.
She and her son came towards me still with my back facing them.
"Thank you so much Janelle," She told me. I took a fast look, and it seemed like she was crying for the help.
"...You're...Welcome," and I left...
Beep Beep
"Huh? Oh," I grabbed my cellphone out of my pocket. It was Reeve.
"Yeah."
"Janelle! We need you here! Report to the location ASAP!" and before I could answer, he hung up.
"Tch... Fine. Um, okay," I replied to myself. I went toward the destination, the main lobby of the Shinra Electric Company Building.
"Um... Yeah, I'm here..." I said. As I thought, I was the last one here. I scanned the rubble of the once booming area, then a man in blue stopped me.
"Janelle! What happened? Why are you late?" he said. Obviously, it was Reeve.
"I-," I got interrupted.
"Come on, Reeve. Wait a moment. You're very paraoid," said a man with a red cape. conti
"I was helping out some citizens within sector 8, the fountain area. There were a lot. So... Yeah that's why."
"Oh, Well. Good job then..." Reeve answered, then turned towards everyone else, "Great job everyone. Thank you for your contribution to this crisis," he continued, but I didn't pay much attention. He ended saying, "Again I personally thank you and you may leave the area."
Everyone said their 'good byes' and left, except me, Reeve and the man with the red cape. I almost left until I heard them talking. All I heard was '5 years', 'old', 'protect', and 'different'. Afterwards, he came up to me. Only questions clouded my mind. Almost instintively, I said,"Um, thank you for dealing with Reeve."
He didn't answer.
"What's your name?" with confusion on my face.
"Vincent Valentine," he finally answered.
"Oh, well. I have to go back," I replied, "I guess I'll see you soon. Good bye."
He began to scare me a bit. Either way, I decided to leave, Vincent followed me. Wondering, I turned to him.
"What's the matter?" I asked quickly.
"...sigh. I've been assigned to stay with you," he said broadly.
"why? Is something wrong?" I was suprised, this never happened before, even back then.
"No," he said when we began walking," It's just something Reeve wanted me to do. I don't know why, but he just wants me to. Is there a problem?"
"No, just the first time this happened."
"Just like her," he whispered to himself in a daze.
"Excuse me?"
"Hm, it's nothing," he snapped out of it,"So where's you're house?"
"My... house?"
"Yeah, the place you live it?"
"Oh, I live in Kalm," I felt uncomfortable. My house wasn't there exactly.
"Look. The plane over there, it's going to Kalm," he said, which startled me. Vicent seemed different from most people. I couldn't put my finger on it, maybe because he was a rouge, like me. Just helping out when needed, but probably they pay him instead. I'm suprised that I never heard of him before. It's a little wierd, like i saw him before.
Beep Beep.
"Oh," I got my phone, and it was a text from Zuko. It said," How was the mission? Sorry, I couldn't go. I'm still wounded from yesterday. Are you coming back to Kalm?" I replied, " It was OK, I guess. Midgar is completely in ruins and beyond repair. I know that already! And yeah we are several miles away from Kalm. Oh I'm bringing a visitor..."
It successfully when though. I never relized how many people were here. Vincent came to me and said, "We'll be arriving soon."
"I'm aware of that," I felt like a child when talking to him. He's been telling me what to do. I heard someone say we're in Kalm. As soon as the plane stopped, I got out. Curious to the rush, Vincent followed. Finally, I located my house, and let him in. It was a 2-story house , somewhat big, and nice. I showed him to his room, and left him to check it out. While he was doing that, I found Zuko in the living room. I explained what happened it Midgar, and why Vincent was here. He understood, and decided to take a nap. But before he entered his room, he turned towards me. He asked,"Did you, you know, become-"
"No, I didn't. There were too many people. They would have relized," I interrupted. I didn't want Vincent to listen in. Zuko knew not to tell him, until I decide to tell, but we both knew that it'll be a long time from then.
