Pretty Freaking Awesome
I am Sephiroth.
My favorite songs
"Maps," by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, "Rebecca" and "Setting up Sunday" by Meg and Dia, and "Tonight, Tonight," by Smashing Pumpkins.

"Maps" is simple yet effective. It gets the point across just fine without fancy, intricate lyrics and has a beat that I can only describe as "floaty," or "loudly calm." It's just beautiful, and you can interpret it any way you want.

"Rebecca" is also simple. The only two instruments used are the piano and Dia's (I think) voice. It's soft and almost unbearably sweet, yet sad.

"Setting up Sunday" has a happy, hopeful beat that brings a new perspective to the hopeless lyrics. It shows that some love doesn't last forever, however much you want it to, and that's okay. We all make mistakes, but those mistakes aren't always a terrible thing.I just love that message.

"Tonight, Tonight." What can I say about this song. It makes me want to fall in love, to speed up the time the song talks about to a time when I totally trust in a person so much that I feel like I can do anything. The music is reminiscent of "old-timey, steam-powered" stuff sometimes, and Billy's voice is just perfect for this kind of song. P!ATD did a good job covering it, but...it just wasn't the same.

I adore these songs. I know they all deal with love in some form, but love is such a beautiful, moving emotion. You can't help but make art of it!
