The Final Trade
Then in the clearing darkness of my mind
I saw the letter. you left behind
I can’t forgive you that’s what I swore
You cast the blood you began the war
But to see this here this faithful note
Under the tearstains this is what you wrote:
I am exhausted, but no sleep comes,
Now blood has come to fill my lungs
I am befriending the shadows that live on this wall
They speak of my story, my life, and my fall
And as my chest is nearly full
I confess now, with this tainted soul
That I truly did deserve this pain
Monsters feel but never change
