Audio log: Day one
--First voice is of the same man, identified as Red--
"This is going to be a joint log between me and resident squirt, Monk."
"I told you to stop calling me that you b*****d!"
"Watch your language shortie."
"Whatever. Where'd you get the recorder?"
"Found it after I busted the lock on Father's office desk drawer. It had some of his own crap on it. Just some stuff about being afraid and stuff. Nothing really special."
"So you deleted it? That's real classy Red. It could've been like, his final memoirs of his suicide or something."
"It was."
--Silence--
"Oh..."
"Anyway Monk, just talk about where you were the last two days."
"Supply run. I went with Ei* over to the mall. She said the new styles were in--"
-Laughter from the older voice-
"--Anyway. She told me to get into the radioshack. I had to slice open the roll down gate thingy with some wirecutters. Got some cool new things too. Some batteries, a HAM radio, some communicators... I even got you and Hunter a couple of presents."
"Seriously? What'd you get?"
"I got you some batteries a CD player and the entire collection of Beethoven's works. I know how much you like the classics."
"Glad you remembered Monkey, what'd you get the Aussie?... Is... Is that a crossbow? Where in the Hell did you get a crossbow?"
"I found it across the street in a Walmart. All the shells for shotguns were gone, so I couldn't cross that one off. I did get some food, a 'nother silk tie for you to replace the one that was drenched in blood, some combat boots in the Surplus store, a couple of knives and some sharpeners, and Ei handled the rest."
"Where'd she head off to?"
"She said she had 'chick stuff' to tend to."
"..."
"I still don't know what that means."
"You're better off Monk. Where's Hunter?"
"Dunno. He went off a different way when we got to the mall. Did you have any problems dealing with anyone?"
"No, no one came by. Not even Zack himself. It seems pretty clear around here. The chain moans have probably stopped by now, and the streets are pretty clear. I was up in the bell tower keeping a good watch. Zack's probably just hanging out, locking in some houses or something."
--A third voice is introduced on the tape. This one belonging to a female with a slightly foreign accent--
"Red! Monk! I'm back!"
"Ei!"
