This is a story of my life, my childhood.
It all began in my childhood. When I was a little girl, at the age of 13, growing up in a small village named Chantensu in Northern Japan, my parents and my friends all called me Tadashii-assarishita-chan, or in English Righteous Light Friend. My parents believed that I was to be married to the prince of the village. One day, I was playing a hide-and-seek game with my friends. I was one of the kids hiding. I thought to myself, "I'm going to hide in the old shrine in the woods. ^_^ Only the elders go there to preach, so they won't mind." So off I go to the old shrine in the woods.
A few minutes later, I arrived at the old shrine. "By now, Tohru-chan is looking for everyone." I said to myself. So I hid myself inside the shrine. Minutes turns into hours and still no one has found me. At dusk, I spot a new moon on the horizon. I went to the entrance of the shrine after dusk. "Everyone should be looking for me. I better go back>" When I started to leave the shrine, some magical barrier prevented me from going farther than 5 feet of the shrine. "What the..." I said with fear in my voice.
In my village, everyone is searching for me, including my mom and dad. "Where is she!?" asked mom. "I don't know, honey. We're trying the best we can." answered dad. A man suddenly shouts out, "Hey! What's that over there?" As he was shouting, there was a blinding white light coming down from the heavens. "That's the direction of the old shrine! Come on!" my father explained, as he fully sprinted into the woods towards the shrine. At the shrine, the blinding white light hit the shrine's altar. As I peeked through the maindoors, I was blinded for a second, but I got used to it. "Tadashii!" the mysterious light called out. "Y..Yes???" I stuttered, thinking "What is happening?!"
Upon entering the outside of the shrine, my father and the other villagers impacted the barrier. "Shoot! There's a barrier surrounding the shrine!" my dad yelled. "How do we get inside!?" asked mom. Dad answered, trying to go through the barrier, "I guess we must wait until it goes down."
Inside the shrine, I stepped closer to the altar. "I am Tsukuyomi, the goddess of the moon. The world needs you again, Tadashii!" "What are you talking about?" I asked. "Yami is currently hiding and plans on taking over the world." Tsukuyomi answered. "But what does that have to do with me!" I asked. I was standing where the light's radius ended and the darkness of night started. "You are an incarnation of a very special demon. But you haven't woken that power yet." she answered. I look at the light strangely. "Do you want to protect your family and friend?" asked Tsukuyomi. "Oh yes! I do want to protect my family and friends!" I proclaimed. "Well, if you don't step into the light, I can not help you. If you don't, by this time next week, all the people you care about will die by Yami minion's." My eye's widened. "So what's it going to be, Tadashii?" she asked. I starting stuttering for the answer.
I stepped into the light and walked over to the altar, which was ten feet away. All of a sudden, I felt weightless. It felt like was lifted up into the air by a giant hand. As I rose up into the air, I felt pain all over inside of me like my soul was being ripped out. I screamed in agony. My father heard my scream. "Tadashii!" my father yelled as he punded at the barrier. I stopped screaming because I accepted the pain. "Good, Tadashii! You have accepted your new powers. Starting tomorrow, your new journey awaits. But first, with this newly awoken power inside of you, you will become a stronger person. But there is a consequence: You will turn into your new form. Be forewarned, on the night of the full moon you will be a furious creature in your new form and would want the taste of blood. If you have the taste of blood on that night, you will stay in that furious form until the night of the new moon. Upon that night, you will turn back into a human, but only for the night. Rest assured, if you don't get the taste of blood, you will revert back to your new form in the morning." said the light of Tsukuyomi as I was gently brought down to Earth.
Just as the light of Tsukuyomi placed me down, the light faded and the barrier disappeared. My father, not knowing the barrier's gone, tried to hit it one more time, and realizes that the barrier was gone. So he fell flat on his face. "Ahem..." he says as he gets up and walks inside the shrine. "Let's search the place!" yelled my father. After a little while, someone found me and yelled to the others, "She's in the shrine's temple!" I was shivering on the floor in front of the shrine's altar. My father kneel down in front of me, surprised that no harm was done to me and that I was sleeping. He picked me up in his arms and said to the others, "Come on everyone, let's go home." As all of the villagers were walking home, my father heard me talking in my sleep, "New form...powers...full moon...I'm furious...need blood...stay in form...until new moon...turn human...only for night...no blood...go back...new form...morning..." "So it's true..." my father said, with a worried face.
When we reached the village, I stopped talking in my sleep and was sound asleep in my father's arms. It was very late in the night, so everyone went directly to their homes, including me, my father and my mother. When my father placed me in my bed and tucked me in my bed sheets, my mother stroked my head gently. "Did she talk in her sleep?" asked my mother, as she continues to stoke my head. "yes, she did..." my father answers with a worried face, as he tells her what I said on the way back to the village. "Come on." he said. "She needs her sleep and so do we. We'll have a long morning tomorrow when she wakes up."
I woke up around 10 o'clock in the morning the next day. I looked around my room. I saw my doors closed on the opposite side of my bed, my colorful dresser I made when I was 10 years old on one side of my room, and my miniature night table at the head of my bed. My bed was up against my wall just below my window and I had a mirror opposite to my dress. "I'm so cold..." I said while still in my covers. I got out of bed and headed to my dresser. After some difficulty of getting into my clothes, I looked in the mirror to fix my hair and do my makeup. I noticed something right away: it was me in the mirror but then again it wasn't me; I had fox ears on top of my head and a long fluffy fox tail! "AHHHHHH!!!!!!" I screamed, so loud that everyone in the village could have heard me. "Well...here we go." said my father as he placed his tea cup down. My parents came in my room and my mother said, "It's time when we have a talk." and offers me to come with them to the livving room.
After a couple of minute's talking to my parents, my eyes widened. "Wait! Wait a minute! Are you telling me that I am an incarnation of Inuyoshe, the fox demon that can change into a human on the night of a new moon?" I asked. "Yes. We both knew." said my father. "And thatI will become the evil form of Inuyoshe on the night of the full moon?" Both my parents nodded. "When were you going to tell me!!!" I yelled in frustration. "We were hoping that this day would never come. You see, Tsukuyomi..." said my father. "Wait! She's involved too?!" I said suddenly. "Please. Don't interrupt. As I was saying, Tsukuyomi came to us while you were still a baby. She said, 'Your child is an incarnation of Inuyoshe.'" he said as a flashback started. "'She will become one of many heros during this time. In the past, Inuyoshe did some terrible things. But that changed after he took part in helping seal Yami. Now, Inuyoshe's evil part will transform her every full moon. And, just like Inuyoshe, she will transform back to human only on the night of the new moon. No need to fear, I can see that she hasn't awoken his power yet. I shall return when it is a new moon of her 13th year.'" my father finished saying, as the flashback ends.
I looked down at the floor. "I understand, father." I said continuing to look at the floor. "So what now, father? Should I start training for the Yami attack next week?" "Yes. I think that is a good idea." my father said, standing up. "but wait a minute. What about the other villagers?" "Hmmm...You're right." he said. He goes to the closet and grabs something. "Here. Put on this cloak, Tadashii. We must conseal your identity." After I put on the cloak, which hid my tail, ears and eyes, me and my father went out of the house and went towards the woods. Some villagers said, "Konnichiwa, Yadamo-sensei! Who is this?" pointing at me. He always answered "Oh...just a girl that Tadashii brought home last week." But there was one girl who stopped us just at the entrance of the woods. She was about my age and my height. "Konnichiwa, Yadamo-sensei! Where is Tadashii-chan? I want to ask her if she wants to play a game with me and others." Tohru-chan said. My father and I looked at each other. "I'm sorry, Tohru-chan. My daughter had to much of an adventure, considering last night. So my wife wanted her to go to the town over the mountains. She'll be back in a few weeks." my father said. "Oh...ok! Tell her to find me when she comes back ^-^" Tohru-chan replied. "So who is this?" she asked pointing at me. "Oh! Her name is Daku-san. She doesn't talk that often. She's just another girl Tadashii brought home last week." my father answered. "Where are you two going?" Tohru-chan asked. My father replied, "We are just going to take a walk in the woods. I'm going to try and understand how she met Tadashii. We'll be home very late." Tohru-chan said, "Oh...ok! I wish you good luck, Yadamo-sensei!" She bows and runs off to her friends while me and my father entered the woods. I asked my father, "Why did tell Tohru-chan my name was Daku?" "Because..." he said signing, "Tsukuyomi gave you that name." I stopped, my eyes widened with fear and shame.
I caught up to my father and we continue walking in the woods for another mile. Then we walked into an opening. My eyes widened with glee. "I remember this plain! This is the place where we used to have picnics and I played in the flowers when I was 5!" I said with excitement. My father said, "Yes, this is the plain. Yet no one knows about it. This will be your training area." pointing towards the big hill with a big oak tree where we had picnics.
We went up the hill and went to the tree. Engraved on the tree was 'Tadashii, Yadamo and Tohrushii' inside a large heart. I smiled at that and looked at my father. "So what now, dad?" I said taking off the cloak that concealed me, revealing the fox ears and tail. My father said, "You look even more beautiful with the fox ears and tail." I blushed at his comment and then there was a short pause. "Ahem, sorry. Okay, first I want you to picture a training arena with lots of dummies." I closed my eyes and pictured a training arena like that. I said. "Okay. Now what?" "Now try and channel that picture to your hands. And don't forget to lift your hands." he said. I lifted my hands and pictured the arena again. Then I tried to channel the picture to my hands. I suddenly felt a burn through my hands and I stopped channeling the picture. "Ow!" "It's going to hurt in the beginning. But you will get used to it." my father said. "How do you know that I need to do this?" I asked. My father said, "Tsukuyomi instructed me to do that to have you learn." "Oh." "Come on. One more time and then we can take a break." "Ok, dad." I said as I close my eyes to picture the training arena. I lifted my hands and tried to channel the picture to my hands again. I again felt that same burn in my hands. I tried to ignore it, and then the burning stopped. I heard my father clapping his hands saying "Good job, Tadashii." I opened my eyes to find a 100yd by 100yd area filled with dummies in several sections
