So I finally downloaded the program to make rpg games and I started making the game.

Turns out I'm going to use sprites from Pokemon Diamond/Pearl to make the game unless something makes it too complicated to the point where I can't use the sprites.

Anyway the progress of the game is very little, so far I only have made two characters (Sonia and me) and I've had a bit of trouble with that heh. Anyway I haven't started to make the overworld or rooms yet because I'm still uploading sprites (or I should say trying to figure out how). I need to figure out how to change the battle sprites because right now my character is a guy with blue hair and sonia is a priestess xP

I'm using pokemon sprites and I'm going to post who is who. Now remember that this is still very early into the project so it's not all that good or going to look much like you.


Anyway here are the sprites of Greg, Sonia, Laura and me in that order. As you can see they don't really look much like us but that's okay right now because I just started working today but I did, however, begin to edit the images. So far the only changes I have made though are the recoloring of Sonia's glasses, changing the color of Sonia's hair, giving Laura glasses, and changing her hair which I'm still working on. I still have to get started on Shaneen, Nicole, Marina and the rest of the side characters and that's just with character sprites, I still have to work on the land scape.



It took me like an hour to just be able to transfer over the character sprites and even then it takes me like 10 minutes just to transfer over one character over correctly. I just hope I can figure out how to import over the landscape because I was successful in importing over a house but the graphics for it were all screwy and messed up. And to add to that I still have to figure out how to configure the battle sprites (the ones that show who you are in battle) because like I said so far I'm some guy with blue hair and Sonia is a priestess... oh and Laura now is some kind of anime witch girl and Greg is a guy with long yellow hair.

It should be easy figuring out how to import over everything I need if and only if I manage to find an understandable tutorial that explains how to do that kind of stuff.


So I guess as an ending note I'm going to say that this is just with the sprites, I still have to get better at "events". Events are what happen when you talk to an npc, go through a door, go to an inn, or talk to a merchant. I have only one event so far and that's a dog saying woof that spins in place very quickly.

But uh... yeah once I get the sprites down and I am able to complete some areas/maps of Rancho Cucamonga I'm going to begin on "events".
