Laying out my beautiful tea set,
The colors vibrant as can be.
And yet,
One in particular strikes me.
Picking it up in my fingers,
I study the delicate cup.
As a song I hear, lingers.
It was given to me with love.
The roses of deep pink,
With it's green leaves and stem.
Slowly I begin to think,
About him.
This being far from my teacup,
But memories too come and go.
Feelings soon erupt.
The tiny cup falling, as I cry out "Oh No."
In pieces on the ground,
It is no longer of beauty.
Some of the tiny pieces not to be found.
But I soon make it my duty.
Picking up the pieces, one by one.
Till it's all together again.
Placing the pieces away, for there's no more fun.
Slowly as it begins to rain.
Tears falling from my cheek,
Putting my tea set up
For another week.
Thinking of the one missing cup.
