Today I was watching the telly and a trailer for George A. Romero's new film, Land of the Dead came on.
It was totally wicked.
The zombies are getting smart, they have weapons. surprised
It's going to be much harder to defeat an enemy that doesn't just want to eat your internal organs, but can now beat you with a stick.
What if they are running zombies as well? Then it may be nigh impossible to kill them, unless you can sniper well.
Although I don't think GAR puts runners into his films. Considering his last zombie film was 20 years ago and the only zombie film I can think of that has runners came out roughly 2 years ago (Dawn of the Dead remake).
I only like the idea of running zombies because in the time we live in it seems to take a lot to really frighten someone.
Imagine yourself trapped in a building surrounded by the living dead.
Now imagine a group of them gets in.
What's more frightening, have the 10 or so zombies slowly lumbering after you, giving you plenty of time to pick some off and escape, or, having those 10 zombies running full speed at you, giving you no time to kill any, and barely enough time to escape.
Now I'm going to reveal something about myself.
Zombies scare me.
Sometimes when I'm going to bed, after everyone else, I'm heading up stairs and the lights are off, for some reason I think there is something behind me. So I rush up the stairs and lock myself in the bathroom.
After I get prepared for sleep I remember that I thought something was following me. And sometimes I wonder what I would do if I looked down the stairs and saw 3 zombies trying to get up.
It sends shivers down my spine.
Freaking zombies.
