Chapter 4
In Hot Water
“Where are you taking me, EliAnna.” her dad was tired and grumpy and was not in a good mood to find out that they had caught a thief that was trying to steal the precious Pearl.
“Dad, uh… we caught a thief.” just as EliAnna was saying this to her dad he let out a grumble and a moan and said
“What in the Great Barrier Reef is that?” He was eyeing the lump of black that was tangled in rope, and was inside the jail cell.
“Uh that’s him, the thief.”
Gertreg looked at her as if he didn’t know what she was talking about at all.
“What was he trying to steal exactly?” he asked uneasy about what the answer might be. She was scared about how he might react, but she told him anyway.
“He was trying to steal the Pearl.” her father’s face turned completely red with anger, but what he said was the exact opposite of what his face said.
“Well I am glad you told me. But you were in so much danger you don’t even know. I am going to have to punish you for it. You are not allowed to go treasure hunting with Kalama for three days.”
“What? Why?”
“Because you were out in the night and you were in sooo much danger! I already told you that. You should be glad that I am only grounding you for three days, it could be more,” said her dad. “You need to go to your room; I will come get you when I figure out what to do with him.”
EliAnna huffed and swished up the stairs to her room.
“Ah…what are you still doing here?” EliAnna whispered.
“I have no where else to go. Besides, maybe we can go find more people to put in jail.” said Nilo, a wide sneaky smile forming on his face.
“No. I am already in a whirlpool with my dad, and I am not getting in any more trouble.” EliAnna said harshly.
