Chapter 2
The Seldu Named Nilo
“What do you think it says?”
The scroll was written in a different language.
“Lets take it to Sinoff,” said Gertreg (Elianna’s father) “he is the best riddle cracker and he knows about every language in the sea!”
Together they swam to where Sinoff lived. “Hmm…. yes, it appears to be Sunuche. It is a very ancient language, that which will take me a long time to even figure out, let alone crack the riddle, if that’s what it is.” said Sinoff.
“Well then keep it very safe and work on it as much as possible” demanded Gertreg. With that he, Elianna, and Kalama left Sinoff’s house. “Hey dad do you want to come to Ancient Ruins Museum with us?” asked EliAnna as soon as they got home.
“Yeah!” cried Kalama.
“I am very sorry.” Said Gertreg sadly “But I have work to do. There are tons of people down at the Great Pearl. Sorry.”
“Should I go see if they need a fourth guard?” asked Kalama
“Yes, that would be very nice of you, thank you. Goodbye.” and he left.
“Well I must go too. Bye EliAnna, see you tomorrow.”
“Bye”
EliAnna made her way up to her room. Her family lives in the palace because Gertreg is in the running to become King.
“Why hello!” said a rather squeaky voice, “My name is Nilo!”
Nilo was a foot tall and had big round eyes and a small mouth with dimples. He had big hairy cat like ears, and webbed hands and feet with webbed fins on his elbows and knees, and one big dorsal fin.
“Uh….I am El…”she started
“Your name is EliAnna. I know. I am here to help you.” said Nilo
“Help me with what!”
“You don’t know?” Nilo said, taking the surprised look on her face as a no,
“Help you protect the Great pearl! It is going to be stolen, today!”
