"If your family you would see,
Spin this hay to gold for me!"
With a downcast look and a tear in her eye,
Rachel shouted to the darkening sky:
"Help me Lord, banish my fear.
The king won't let my father near!
If I don't spin gold from this hay,
I'll live in this tower till my last day!"
Bumble-Flitzen!
With a flash of lightning and a rumble of thunder
That could've torn the walls asunder,
A short, stout troll did as she asked,
And with a will set to the task.
The piles of gold were a beautiful sight,
But the work had taken much of the night.
"Hey, don't sob! I did the job!
For doing this thing, give me your ring!"
Fumble-Blitzen!
Sadly she gave up the ring,
For he had done a noble thing.
The king walked in and saw the gold,
`Twas a rare sight to behold!
And then, on the very same day,
He took her to a room of hay.
With same message as before,
He left the room and locked the door.
Nimble-Fixin'!
She cried and wailed and cried some more
Until she couldn't any more.
The greedy troll did hear the wail,
And hastened to the dreary jail.
"I will help you one more time,
But I will need a gift more fine.
Give me your necklace as my pay,
Or you shall spin the hay today!"
Fimble-Nixin'!
With hardly a wait and nary a tear,
She gave him the necklace that she held dear.
He reached over and snatched the prize,
Glancing at her pleading eyes.
He spun the hay, to gold indeed,
No longer was it horses feed.
The troll then left; she was alone.
"I wish I were in bed at home!"
Feeble-Blitzen!
With a glance at the gold, the king did rejoice,
And announced that Rachel would be his choice.
If she could pass this final test,
Of the kingdom she'd be best.
In a hall all filled with hay,
Rachel waited for the rest of the day.
She looked into a tiny hole
And out of it jumped the greedy troll!
Beeble-Flitzen!
"I'd love for you your help to give
But standing here as I breathe and live
I cannot think of another prize
That would be pleasing to your eyes."
"The gift I want you don't have yet,
But you'll give it up I bet!
Your first-born child's what I need,
Only this will my hunger feed!"
Stipple-Rixlen!
"I see that you won't sway or bend
So I'll give my child to its end.
But you must do as you are told,
And spin all of this hay to gold!"
She sat on the floor and proceeded to weep.
Morning soon had reached the keep.
"I see you've spun the hay to gold,
So I will marry you as foretold."
Ripple-Stixlen!
As weeks and months had come to pass
The queen became a happy lass.
She gave birth to a bundle of joy;
A beautiful, bouncing, baby boy!
And on that day the troll came back
To take the one thing that he lacked.
"I came to take your child away,
For you owe him as my pay!"
Ripple-Rixlen!
"Just wait, hold on! This isn't fair!
Give back my son, or I do swear..."
"You want a chance to win him back?
Tell me my name and I'll give him back!"
She guessed names till break of dawn,
And soon she stifled a tired yawn.
"I shall return upon the morrow,
And fill your heart with tears of sorrow!"
Stipple-Stixlen!
The queen's father followed the troll,
He traveled with a lively stroll.
The troll was dancing in a clearing.
The old man even heard him singing!
"I am Rumple-Stiltskin!
No one knows where I have been!
The queen, she doesn't know my name,
And I know that fact will stay the same!"
Stumple-Riltskin!
The queen's father trekked back to the castle.
"All this guessing a meaningless hassle!
No matter how hard I would've tried,
I could've guessed until I died!
That little creature is an evil troll!
I'll have his head atop a pole!"
The queen was angry; her mood was black.
When the troll arrived, her men attacked.
Rumple-Stiltskin!
Rachel shouted from a tower
A name that carried lots of power.
The sky flashed red,
The troll fell dead.
