Biography it is.... of me. So makes it and autobiography it does.
Making a Lightsaber: from Ood Banr's Holocron
The traditional weapon of the jedi, the lighsaber is the signal of peace and purity. It is a beacon the guides as well as protects. A symbol to all, and a part of the Jedi. The lightsaber has a specific construct and must be made precisely.... any errors in creation, and it is switched on... the results are to the creator. But if created correctly, and the Jedi uses the force to guide his hand, the result is a pure blade of light, that pour out and radiates who that Jedi is. The Jedi is connected to his lightsaber, so once the Jedi dies... so does his lightsaber. The traditional ceremony is a funeral pyre and placing the now lightsaber hilt in the Jedi archives. The components of a lightsaber.

The Coloring Crystal: This crystal is the core of the lightsaber. By this small thing a jedi is defined. The starting training sabers have a basic neutronium crystal that gives the blade a pink glow. Once a padawan adavances to the elder levels of their training, they are presented a basic color crystal depending upon their chosen path. ((green: consular; blue: guardian; yellow: sentinel)) These crystals are easy to find, and can be changed once the padawan passes the trials. ((for more information and colors see the specifics section))

Power Crystals: The lightsaber can hold up to three crystals, including the coloring crystal. Thus meaning that as a jedi advances, so will his lightsaber. These crystals however are not easy to come by... some a simple to find, others are extremely rare. Advancing padawans are not given these crystals.... they must be found personally. These crystals are not required to make the lightsaber.... they only give added effects. ((for more information see the specifics section))

The Lens: The focal point of the lightsaber, the lens, is located on the very top of the handle. The lens focuses the beam of the lightsaber, and is responsible for the length and width of the blade. You can make your blade a long and as wide a wished, however any longer than 40 inches or wider than 2 inches, can result in an overload of the lens, and render your lightsaber useless. Standard saber length is 38 inches, and an inch wide. Padawans taking their trials are given a basic lens. Other lenses can be found and added to the saber, giving it varying effects and abilities. These are expensive however, and some are coveted. ((for more information see the specifics section))

The Emitter: The maker of the blade, the emitter, is what produces the blade. The emitter shoots a beam of light energy, through the crystals, and out the lens. The emitter is located under the crystals, and can different effects. Padawans taking the trials are given a basic emitter, though others can be found. As with the lenses, they are expensive however, and some are rare. ((for more information see the specifics section))

The Power Cell: The "heart" of the blade you could say. The power cell is located at the bottom of the lightsaber handle. It connects to the emitter ot supply and energy source. Power cells are cheap and easily found. Padawans in trials are given a basic one, but there are countless others. A normal power cell can last two years constantly producing a blade. If the lightsaber were to touch water though, it causes the power cell to short out, rendering the lightsaber useless. A good jedi always carries an extra power cell, because they are easily replaced.

The Handle: The casing for the lightsaber... this can be made with any sturdy metal, and is the expresson of the jedi. No two lightsabers are the same for any Jedi.

Making the lightsaber: coming when the trials take place!!

Specifics Section: These are the known alternate parts for a lightsaber. While definitely not all of the components, these are the rarest and most commonly used replacement parts. Updates will continually come ofcourse.

The Coloring Crystals: ((see above section for purpose))

Yellow: The symbol of a Jedi Sentinel. This crystal gives a lightsaber a yellow blade. The Sentinels are the orderlys or "happy Median" of the Jedi Order. They study both combat and the force. These Jedi learn quickly, and have extreme skills. They are the undercover agents, or mission takers of the Jedi. A Sentinel can some to a solution easily, and is not daunted by a challenge. These padawans are usually the first to take the trials. Most crystals that give a yellow glow are made of some form of Nexium.

Blue: The symbol of a Jedi Guardian. This crystal gives a lightsaber a blue blade. The Guardians believe in the time honored tradition of Brawn over Brains. Their solution is grab a weapon bash it down.... and using the force they do this. Normally the first lines of defense for the Jedi Order, these powerful warriors can mow through tons of enemies, shirking off physical damage, and using the force to boost their physical abilities. Theses padawans are normally the last to reach the trials because they have trouble understanding the word NO. Most of the crystals that give a blue blade are some form of Valinium.

Green: The symbol of a Jedi Consular. This crystal gives a lightsaber a green blade. The Consular class believes in attunement with the force. They do not have much use for physical feats, and prefer to seek becoming one with the force. Consulars are the voice of reason within the order, and are always the first to see a solution to a problem. They seek knowledge over strength, and wisdom over power. Their strength lies in the force, and they spend little time with combat training. Do not however expect a consular class opponent to be an easy fight. Their attunement with the force makes them fast, agile, and extremely perceptive. They can use the force during combat as if it were another arm. The consulars are middle to last of the padawans to reach the trials. They are the most difficult class to learn in and cannot be looked at lightly. Most crystals that give the green blade are some type of emerald.

Violet: The symbol of a Jedi Warrior. This crystal gives a lightsaber a purple hued, violet blade. The Jedi Warrior are Jedi Knights dedicated to the study of the Guardian and the Sentinel. They are the guiding lights on the front of battle, and are strong leaders. Normally looked to more so than Consulars because they take action. They Jedi believe in muscle over mind, with added force! They are valiant fighters and excellent swordsmen. While simple amethyist can create a purple blade, the best crystals for this color are found only on the world of Harrun Kal. The Nextrium from this planet gives a blade a deep violet glow. ((used by jedi master Mace Windu))

Red: The symbol of a the Sith or a Dark Jedi. This crystal gives a lightsaber a deep red blade. This color cannot be achieved by any natural crystal... instead, the Sith fashioned the tradition of creating synthetic crystals. Part of their training, the Sith would sit in a two week meditation, "cooking" the crystals in a special oven, and morphing them to their will. A typical Jedi does not use this color blade, as it insues wrath and war.

Orange: The symbol of a Jedi Healer. This crystal gives a lightsaber a orange blade. The Healers are the peacemakers of the order. They prefer to never lift their sabers in combat, and the soft orange blade reflects their sorrow when it is drawn. They are consulars dedicated to saving life rather than taking it. These Jedi are one with the living force, and do not participate in mission... unless medical aid is needed. Brondarite is normally used to give a blade this color.

Silver: The symbol of a Gray Jedi. This crystal gives a lightsaber a yellow blade. Grey Jedi, although having complete the training of the Jedi, are indepent, and operate outside the Jedi Council. They are brash, and are normally considered misguided. Though they may have not fallen to the darkside.... they border extremely close to the abyss. Obsidian is normally used for this color.

Sapphire: The symbol of a Jedi Mage. This crystal gives a lightsaber a blue blade outlined in a white haze. The Mages are powerful force combatants and battle healers. They are fierce warriors and have strong ties with the living force. They are sent on missions of utter importance, and can be very persuasive. The most known Jedi Mage was Plo Koon. ((though master Star is also one.)) The sapphire is normally used to achieve this color.

Viridian: The symbol of a Jedi Master. This crystal gives a lightsaber a green blade with a white center blade. The Jedi Masters are the elite of the Order. They are in complete blance with the force, and they are sought for their wisdom. They are considered the greatest swordsmen of the Jedi Order, and their mastery of technique is astounding. It is these Jedi that are most currently placed on the Council. They are adavanced Consulars and spend most of their day in meditation. The most famous Jedi Master is Yoda. The Viridian crystals are very rare.... found only at the academy on Ossus. When the academy was destroyed nearly 20,000 years ago, the crystals were lost. The only one in current, known existence belongs to Yoda.

Power Crystals: ((see above section for purpose))

Rubat: Used in lightsaber construction, rubat crystal is mined on Phemis. It produces a clearly defined blade that a jedi can easily keep track of, making it easier to hit their targets. Excellent for use in a blaster bolt deflecting lightsaber. This crystal also make the color of your blade more defined, and makes the blade appear sharper to the eye. These brown crystals are long and slender, and extremely brittle.

Damind: Found on the desert world of Daminia, this crystal cna be used in lightsaber construction to produce a clearly defined blade that is subtly wider and longer. These pink crystals are chocked and squat, making a pompous appearance.

Eralam: Once mined on the third moon of Erat, an ancient Sith ardment shattered much that remained. If they can be found, these transparent crystals produce a clear, superior strength lighsaber blade.

Sapith: This crystalized material was excreted once every 11 years by the ancient Volice worm of Lwhekk, now extinct. It produces a more intense lightsaber beam, granting better burning and control. The crystals are long, thin, transparent rods.

Nextor: This crystal is mined in the mountains of planet M'haeli, and when used in a lightsaber it produces a volitale blade that can cause surprise amounts of damage to blast doors, and dura steel plating. These light blue crystal, make a beam intense enough to cut a hole in a star destroyers hull! There are very few metals or ores that can withstand a blade with these crystals. ((pure cortosis is one of them)) These crystals are easy to find.... if you have enough credits to buy them.

Opila: found in the asteroid fields of the Fyrth system, this crystal can be used in a lighsaber to produce an intense beam that cuts quickly. These purple crystals are small and round.... they work very well with Nextor. You can make a daunting lightsaber with these two crystals... so long as your pocket book holds up.

Jenraux: the refined form of Opila, this crystal has been cleansed of all impurities. The now yellow crystals make a hot blade for unerring quickness.... but have lost their ability to make a cutting blade. You sacrifice speed for strength here. Jenraux is much cheaper than Opilia.

Phond: These jagged, marroon crystals are the strange by-product of rare impurities bonded during the making of certain alloys and some random external factor. This crystal makes a fiercely hot blade, made for destroying large objects, and causing damage.

Firkrann: This heavy blue crystal is collected by the natives of Rafa V. If used in a lightsaber, it produced an electrically charged beam that can be devastating to machinery and droids.

Bondar: These golden yellow crystals were mined on alderaan, until it was destroyed. The blade this crystal produces, pluses and can jar the weapon out of the enemy's hand's, or if their block is hit with enough impact... it can stun them.

Sigil: Mined in the Sigil system, these crystals are costly but a valued addition to your lightsaber. It produces a bridge beam that sears on contact, inflicting massive damage.

Upari: These jagged, sea blue crystals are found in orbit around forest world. They are brittle but versatile.... only a jedi master can get it to produce an effectm though it can produce any effect they desire.

The Solari crystal: There are many famous lightsaber crystals spoken of throughout the history of the Jedi Order... but the artifact of true light side power and dignity was the Solari crystal. Only those jedi, that were pure of heart and at one with the living force could use it in their lightsaber, and weild its powers. A lightsaber equipped with this gleaming, pure white gem is the ultimate weapon against the darkness. It was given to the consular Shaela Nuur. The crystal was lost when the Jedi Shaela Nuur disappeared during the great hunt. It was found nearly two hundred years later in a cave... next to a pile of rags and bones that turned out to be Shaela. The crystal is now in the possession of the Jedi Master Yoda.... though it is not known if he uses it in his lightsaber or not.

Adegan: Adegan or Ilum crystals are the most common focusing crystals. These light blue gems increase a blades sharpness to movement, allowing the jedi to maximize damage.

Ruusan: Sharp, thin light red crystals, they come from tge mid-rim planet of the same name. While not directly affecting the lightsaber's blade, they help the jedi to focus the force on the here and now.

Dragite: These smooth black crystals are found on M'haeli, in the D'olop mountain range. The beam they create resonates loudly whe nit strikes, inflicting painful sonic damage on the opponents ears. Do not expect it to work on droids.

Velmorite: An easy to find crystal. Found only on the planet Vehmor, these bright yellow crystals produce a fine beam that is easy to wield skillfully.

Kasha: This crystal is traditionally used by the Cereans as a meditation tool. When used as a lightsaber crystal, it helps to clear the wielder's mind of distractions even during combat. This milky, gray crystal was first used by the Master of Ki Adi Mundi.

Stygium: a black mineral ore that can be used to create cloaking effects the foil enemy censors. In its pure crystal form, it is suitable for a lightsaber, giving the wielder minor stealth abilties. They are enough to fool basic droids and scanners but that's all.

Ponite: A fine, purple gem. It is one of the rarest forms of the Adegan crystal. It radiates a powerful aura that cools both skin and tempers. This crystal keeps the lightsaber cool even after days of running, and helps the Jedi to feel at peace. This crystal is used by many Jedi Healers, Mages, and Masters.

Ultima-Pearl: A fine jewel that can be placed in a lightsaber.... though a little unorthodox, it has surprising qualities. It is found only on Calamari, and is difficult to properly install in a lightsaber, but if done so it has powerful effects. It is cautioned that only masters try and do this.... however the gem is so rare in this form that none has been found pure enough in over a century.

Lorrdian Gemstone: During the subjugation, the Lorrdians were banned from speaking to each other and thus learned to use subtle gestures and ticks to communitcate. The few force-adepts, found after the Jedi freed the population of slaves, imprinted these gemstones with the force to enhance the ability to read an opponent. They can be used in a lightsaber... though few remain, and are considered sacred to the Lorrdian people.

Barab Ore Ingot: The ore from Barab 1 actually lies on the planets surface, meaning it is exposed to high doses of radiation and torrential downpours daily. This ore can be found in concentrated Ingots that actually stoe and magnify the radiation. When refined and placed in a lightsaber, the ingots produce a blade that burns almots to the point of losing cohisive measurements.... very little of this ore can has been taken from the planets surface... and every person who has touched it before it has been refined has died. The risks of getting this ore are very high... due to the fact that the rain on the planets surface is acid... and in minutes can burn through a 2 foot plate of dura steel. Rainfall happens about every ten minutes on Barab 1.

Ankarres Sapphire Crystal: This crystal possesses legendary healing powers and numerous other effects. It is one of the most potent crystals that can be used in a lightsaber's creation. This crystal was found by Jedi Master Star Karilesi, nearly 4,000 years ago. It has been an integral part of her lightsaber ever sense.

Kaiburr: Perhaps the most powerful crystal that could be used in a lightsaber, the Kaiburr gem bestows insight and fortitude upon its owner.... at the cost of life. The radiation emitted from the gem is lethal, and even the strongest species only survive about a year under it's gaze.

Qixoni: The Qixoni crystals were formed by Darth Bane on a planet that was destroyed over a millenia ago, when its star went super nova. They are exceedingly rare, and embelish the owner with dark energy. The only known ones left in existence belonged to Darth Plagious.... the master of Darth Sidious. When Sidious turned on his master, him in his sleep, the crystals in Plagious's lightsaber vanished.... It is believe that they now reside in the lightsaber of Darth Sidious.
