am i really a shadow?
do i really seem that way?
drifting through nothingness,
darkness, just a silhouette?
sometimes i seem just that
yes i do admit
warm to those i care for,
but a shadow none the less
i have been one all my life
until light shines on me
does it bring out the best in me?
am i a shadow no more?
but when the light is gone...
will i turn back?
back into a shadow
living in darkness without hope?
i want the light to surround me
the darkness... it scares me
when will the light shine on me always?
