~Mikey's P.O.V.~
'Gerard left really early this mourning. I wonder if everything's ok..... He seemed a little bit worried.' I sat there thinking to myself.
He ad mentioned earlier that night that he was going over to see Frank. Before he left I had reminded him about breakfast at the Plaza Diner.
At around 8:30 he came back and got ready to leave at 9. Lindsay, Kaitie, Lauren, and Della came over and asked to talk with Gee. He came out of his room and asked if I'd go to the diner and tell the others that they were going to be late.
I left kind of suspicious of what was going on. they were hiding something and I knew it. When I finally got to the Plaza Ray and Bob were there with Bert and Quinn. I waved.
"Hey." I said sitting down doing mie and Bob's 'secret' hand shake.
"Hey! So where are the girls and Gee and Frank??" Ray asked from beside Bob. I shrugged.
"The girls are at my house talking with Gee. They should be here soon. As for Frank... your guess is as good as mine. Haven't heard from him since before his little break up thing wih Roxx." Everyone sighed at the mention of Roxxanne. No one here really liked her she was always cheating on Frank, trying to change him and Frank was oblivious of the whole thing.
Sudenly Gerard, Della, Lindsay, Lauren and Kaitie walked in and sat down putting their coats on the backs of their chairs.
"Hey! Sorry we're a little late. We had to talk about something." Gerard smiled widely at us all.
" Sooooooo..... What is this SOMETHING you had to talk about without telling me the very sexy one?" Bert asked getting a couple of laughs from us.
Lindsay kissed him on the head.
"You're too dirty to be sexy to any of them. But to me your definitally sexy." She smiled getting yet some more laughs from their act.
" Anyway back to this something. We want you guys to meet someone new! Buut ypou have to be nice to her. She doesn't remember mucha nd acts and sounds like she's 4. Frank found her in an alley last. Soo be on you're best behavior and Bert that's directed at you! Don't try and scare her!" Kaitlin said still putting her Jacket on a chair sitting across the table from Gerard.
"Awwwww... I was just going to show her my best monster face."He twisted his face showing it to Lindsay. She pretended to be scared and he hugged her. Tose two were always an odd couple.
Just then Frank walked in with a pretty girl in sunglasses behind him. She was wearing all of his stuff. He smiled and waved at us all.
"Hey guys."
The girl kind of hid behind him. Frank turned around and whispered to her, but it was loud enough for the rest of us to hear. Well at least loud enough for me to hear.
"it''s ok January, these are our friends. And look there's Gerard. See it's ok I'm here." He pointed to Gee sitting on the opposite side of the table, in the booth part, from me.
"Sit here January." Gerard patted the seat beside him. She nodded turning bright red and sitting down next to Gee. Frank followed. Both introduced her to us all. She was latched onto Frank's arm the entire time and he didn't seem to have a problem with it either.
'Hmmmmmm..... suspicious!' I sang in my head.
"Here take off your sunglasses hun." Gerard got an extra big smile on his face like he was gonna show us something no one had ever seen before except him. Then he took Frank's sunglasses off the girl. A bunch of wow's and gasp's filled the table. Her eye's were blood red. I was absolutely amazed and dumb-founded by them.
"You... have really pretty eyes." I said turning a bit red myself. Della hit my ellbow lightly signalling for me to contol myself 'cause I had a girlfriend. It was the truth though she really did have pretty eyes. The girl blushed like mad.
"Thank you." She said quietly.
"You pretty eyes."She smiled at me. "All pretty eyes." She then said looking at all of us at the table.
"Awww thank you sweetie." Lindsay said happily.
"She's a sweet girl." Della whispered to me. All I could do was nod.
"Yea she is." I finally got out leaning my head ontop of hers that rested on my shoulder.
Everyone had tehn gone about their buisness with each other. Dalla and I conversing, frank watching JAnuary with astonishment as she drew on a peice of paper with a sharpie, Gerard and Kaitlin, Bert and Lindsay trying to eat the sugar packets on the table and Ray, Lauren, Bob, and Quinn trying to stop them while talking.
Frank had actually stayed quiet this time and was helping Lindsay and Bert clear teh table of the remainder of the sugar packets. I think that was a first for him in his life. He was just coloring along with January quietly whispering with her.
"Hey Frank... Frankie..." It took me a while to actually get his attention. Finally he looked at me.
"You ok man?" I asked he looked down at the table then with glazed eyes filled with distraction and so many emotions joined together. It had looked like he didn't even know I was talking to him then he looked up at me, nodded and smiled weakly.
"Yea I'm good." He said.
'He sure is acting weird. He hasn't acted like this since....'
Then I realized Gerard must have said something to him by acident.
"Yo, Gee. Can I talk to you outside please for a minute?"
He nodded and I got up and waited for him outside. A few seconds later he was standing right next to me with his hands in pockets.
"What's up Mikey?"It was about to snow out I could tell by how grey the sky got suddenly.
"It's Frank he's acting unusually quiet today."
"Yea so what's that got to do with anything?" He asked totally oblivious to what I was trying to say to him.
"Well he hasn't been like this in a while. And I wonder, did you say anything about you know who?" Gee was totally confused.
"Roxxanne?"
"No! The otehr you know who!"
"Oh his parents..." He paused looking down and very guilty.
"Oh god what did you do?" I asked very concerned for my friend.
" He wanted to dump the girl at our house! So I told him he's the only one that lives alone our parents would never go for it. So I said exactly, 'Like my parents would allow me, the irresponsible 20 year old that I am, let a girl the same age as you live in our house. You're on crack right?! Besides you're the one who lives alone inside a pretty big house!' And that's what happened. He seemed to be fine with it. He didn't get or upset about it. And I appologized to him for it too." I shook my head in disbelief.
"He's your best friend! You can't just treat him like that. Even when you get mad at him you can't just bring his parents up like that. Even though he doesn't have parents he tries to pretend he does so he acts the wway his parents would tell him to. Haven't you noticed?!" I practically yelled. Gerard shook his head, I could see he felt really bad about it.
" Aww man I messed up big this time. I struck way too many nevers today." He said rubbing his forehead. I was confused now.
"How?" was all I could say.
"I mentioned his break up and his parents. I'm such a horrible friend." I shook my head at his stupidity. He was always very oblivious to other people's feelings unil after he saw how it affected the person.
"Moron."
"Yea I know." Suddenly Frank came outside lighting up a ciggarette.
"When did you start again?" I asked the last time he had started smoking. He looked at it and shrugged.
"Dunno. I forgot." By the way he said it I could tell it was sometime last night maybe this morning. I gave Gerard a hug whispering into his ear.
"Apologize now." Gerard nodded and I went back inside.
A few minutes after I sat down I saw Frank running out of the parking lot down the street. Gerard was trying to follow.
"Ah s**t." I said under my breath. Della heard me though.
"what's wrong hun?" I got my jacket on.
"I dunno. Something's wrong with Frank and I'm going to find out what exactly!" Suddenly Gerard came in huffing and puffing trying to catch his breath.
"Frank...he..."
"Gee catch your breath first then talk." I said putting my hand on his back.
"No time..."
"Why what's going on?" I aksed concerned.
"What the hell is going on?"Bob came over with his jacket in hand and Ray, Bert, and Quinn behind him. He looked like he was about to seriously kick some a**.
"I dunno what, but Frank's gonna do something really bad. And with Jayson, Mike, and Aiden none-the-less." Gerard said catching his breath.
'Just what we need now. Those spazzes messing him up again.'
"Aiden, Mike and Jayson?! Those goddamn drunken bastards." Ray chimmed in. None of us had liked that group of assholes, but we found Frank with them a few days after his parents died and then everyday after. That's when we became friends with him. That's when he was a heavy smoker a drug addict and a drunk.
"Gee how did this happen?" I asked sharply.
"I dunno. I just said 'Look man I'm sorry about what I did to you earlier by mentioning your parents and Roxxanne like that.. I'm really sorry.' Thenhe just snapped or someting 'cause he threw a couple hundred bucks at me for January and said he was leaving to go hang with those b*****d's." He then started whispering.
"I asked what I should do about January and he said he didn't ******** care and he could care less if she died." I knew he was trying to be quiet so January didn't hear I nodded and got up from his side.
"Take January home with you, or to one of the girls houses, or do someting with her. I'm gonna take Bob and Ray with me."I said signalling Ray and Bob to follow.
"We're coming too!" Bert said loudly with Quinn following right behind him. I nodded and ran out of the Plaza with them to Ray's car. We had no idea where Frank and those other assholes would be. All we knew is that they hung out in alleys.
