INTRO o hay, welcome to my quest biggrin
So this quest here combines two nostalgic elements of my old pokemon gaming days.
First of all, I always used to have a Cubone on my team as soon as I was able. As soon as I hit Lavender town in R/B/Y, I caught me one, no matter how long it took XD;; I caught one or traded one ASAP in G/S/C and...I never really played R/S but if I did, you can bet there'd be a damn Cubone on my team ASAP! >.<
Funny thing was...I never let them evolve to Marrowak. Marrowak is cool and all, but there was something more lovable about Cubone. Something cuter too XD Plus, how do you NOT love a pokemon that uses the bones of it's DEAD MOTHER for weapons and armor? That's so morbid it's cool XD
Secondly, I always had a trainer named Fenrir, after one of my older OCs. It just became habit and tradition after awhile XD
This quest combines the idea of a trainer named Fenrir, and one of my favorite pokemon, albeit in a slightly odd way XD Read on for moar informeats~
[Note: This is still a sort of WIP at the moment. Forgive the clutter x3]

THE VICTIM:
Name: Fenrir Anahita (surnam taken from his adoptive 'mother') Age (approximate in Pokemon's case, i.e. Child, Teen, Adult, etc...): 17 (may age down to 16, though) Gender: Male Pokemon: Cubone
Starting Stage (Pokemon or human): Human
Physical Description if Starting Human: [As always, ref available on request]
Height: 5'8 Weight: 143 lbs Build: Slender Hair: Fenrir has brown hair he keeps short, save for his bangs, which he wears long and combed to one side, the locks falling over the left side of his face. Eyes: Green Clothing/Accessories: Shirt: The shirt Fenrir wears is a long-sleeved purple number, with yellow trim around the cuffs and neck. On the center, there is a bright-yellow smilie face (the "XD" face, no less). Pants: For pants, Fenrir has a pair of worn jeans. They're torn at the knees and scuffed in other places, though not as much out of fasion as it is from wear and tear. Shoes: A pair of red and white high-top canvas sneakers, not unlike Converse... Accessories: -Goggles: Easily one of Fenrir's most dear possessions. He is almost always seen wearing his goggles...even at times to bed! -Necklace: Hanging around Fenrir's neck is a small necklace. The cord is a simple black nylon rope sort of deal, and the charm hanging from the middle is oddly gear-shaped (ref provided on request)...
Some Physical Trait Suggestions for Human Side if Starting as a Pokemon: N/A
Personality: Fenrir is...special to say the least. Unique. On the surface, he comes off as a very optimistic fellow. He always likes to look on the bright side of things as well, trying to be as hopeful as he can manage. Granted, when there is no bright side, he tends to cry or become very distressed, emotionally crumbling. Needless to say, a good word used to describe him would be 'sensitive'.
With that said, it's no surprise he doesn't often act his age of 17 years. He can seem immature and naive at times, seemingly taking very little in a serious life. He is a jokester, enjoying a good prank (especially if said prank entails defacing someone or something with Sharpie marker). He can also come off as being rather hyper and playful, or curious to the point of serious annoyance.
But then there are times he can seem wise beyond his years, seeming collected and wise- everyone has there moments, after all! Granted, these 'moments' tend to consist of a wise statement or action followed by a not-so-wise statement or action.
Underneath the surface, Fenrir tends to bottle a lot up. Very often he sacrifices his own happiness for the happiness of others. But through it all he'll force a happy face. He's come to find that people tend to expect him to be happy and goofy, and he doesn't want to 'let them down' as he puts it. The thing is, he's so used to this facade, that he has a way of convincing himself he's happy even when he's not...
The topic of his parents is an odd one too. Often he's known for saying that he doesn't miss them because 'it's hard to miss what you never got to know'. However, one could assume with some confidence that he does wish he got to know them, though this doesn't seem like such a sore point for him.
He also seems to pour a lot into his little pokedoll he totes around. He's had it since he was very young, having gotten it when Nan took him on a trip to Celadon city. It's very worn and patched in places now, but he still carries it around in his travel bag. Perhaps this can be seen as another way he acts less than his age. He speaks to the plush toy as if it were real at times, and always hauls it to bed with him. It a great comfort to him, and a reminder of his youth.
Also, he hates bees but likes collecting shiny things. He also would enjoy models if he had the focus to build one. but he doesn't, so more often than not, those forays end with him gluing himself to something (like the wall or desk). He...can be a bit clumsy at times.
As a side note, he has a great respect of the dead, and is oddly superstitious at times. This can be attributed to the fact he grew up in Lavender Town...
History:
In Lavender town, born and raised In the Pokemon Tower is where I spent most my days Chillin' out, maxin', relaxin' all cool--
Okay. Seriously now.
Fenrir was born in Lavender Town of the Kanto region, a town know by most for the ghost-inhabited Pokemon tower. However, Fenrir's parents passed away in an unfortunate accident while he was still very young, leaving him orphaned. He was taken in by Nanaea Anahita, an older woman of the town who knew Fenrir's parents before their passing. "Nan" (as she was know to most, including Fenrir) raised the boy for most of his life.
Fenrir recalls going to visit his parent's graves from time to time with Nan, to lay flowers and various things by the headstones. But more regularly, he visited the Pokemon Tower to tend the graves of lost pokemon, especially those that no longer had anyone to care for them.
He learned a great respect and honor for the dead, naturally, along with a few superstitions regarding the dead and the spirits (but that should be expected, considering the region). His life, other than that, was fairly average. He made friends, got into scraps, and lived life.
He had decided, even from a young age, that he wanted to become a pokemon trainer. Fenrir was flighty and a bit spacey even as a boy, so the idea of a Trainer, someone who journeyed all over the place, appealed to his wanderlust. Plus, he admired the bond that passing trainers shared with their pokemon (and as sweet as his pokedoll was, it wasn't exactly REAL). Plus, what little boy doesn't dream of becoming a pokemon trainer some day?
Once he became old enough, he set out to become a trainer in his own right. He didn't care that much about being 'the best'. He was merely interested in the thrill of fighting others, of the journey ahead. As he said 'It's not as much the destination, but the journey that's the real fun!'
Strengths: - determined - optimistic - clever/inventive - playful - loyal - trusting - kind
Weaknesses: - doesn't take things seriously as much as he should - high-energy and the likes can get on people's nerves - naive - curious to the point of annoyance at times - can be stubborn - not as physical strong as some - his loyalty and trusting nature of others can lead to him being mislead - deep down, he's emotionally frail - incidentally, when he gets scared, really scared, he runs around like a panicked idiot XD - short attention span
Future Plans for Character or Any Extra Info: I...have no clue XD
I was toying with the idea of how he gets his bone armor, though. Like, perhaps upon the arrival (or after some early changes), he receives the 'bone club' as a 'gift' from staff. Granted, he has no idea what it's for so he'll probably just put it on display until he fully changes XD
I figure he'll get the bone helmet in the same fashion, after some later changes. He'll probably start wearing the helm some time after getting it, to try and hide his transformation, to hide how 'weird' he looks...
I can also see his personality doing a shift the more he changes and the more hopeless everything sees. It'll be interesting to see someone so cheerful and optimistic suddenly break and become so sad and lonely (much like a true cubone). Or something like that.
But who can say how the changes will effect him? The boy lives in his own little world, after all XD

THE POKEMON:

Name: Cubone (????, Cubone? Karakara in original Japanese language versions) is one of 493 fictional species of Pokémon from the Pokémon franchise. The name Cubone is a combination of the words cub and bone, in reference to its young age and relation to bones, both as weapons and armor. The "Cu-" may also be derived from cute, as Cubone is rather referred to as cute and lonely. Its Japanese name is most likely a pun on ? kara (emptiness), ? kara (shell), and/or ???? karakara (dried-up). In the English translation, it was originally going to be called Orphon, a corruption of "Orphan".
Biological characteristics:
Cubone's appearance is a bit ambiguous, mainly because of the bone helmet it constantly wears, which obscures its facial features. Its body is a light brown color with a lighter colored belly. Cubone is covered in short brown fur. It has a short tail and is often seen holding a long bone in its hand.
Cubone's appearance could have been based on the Pachycephalosaurs, a group of thick-skulled dinosaurs. Other Pokémon based on the Pachycephalosaur are Cranidos and Rampardos of the fourth generation.
Cubone has an unfortunate life cycle. Shortly after birth, its mother inevitably dies. The reason for this is unknown.
Cubone grows up alone, lacking a mother it will never see again. After its mother's cadaver is decomposed enough, Cubone takes her skull bone and wears it over its head as a sort of helmet. It never removes the helmet again, so that its true face remains unknown to the world. This may be an effort on Cubone's part to feel its mother closer to it, but it seems to have little success. Oddly enough, the original Pokémon games state that the skull it wears are actually Aerodactyl skulls, but does not state where the Cubone got them from. This seems to be changed in the newer versions of the games, so there were no references to cannibalism. The skull worn by Cubone resembles a Charizard's skull more so that that of an Aerodactyl. In later life, Cubone constantly pines for its mother, often having bouts of depression, sorrow and loneliness. It is said to cry at the full moon because it sees a likeness of its mother in it. A Cubone's crying voice echoes around the skull helmet and comes out as a plaintive and mournful echo.
Cubone uses long bones as weapons, in the form of crude clubs. It can also wield one as a boomerang. The exact source of the bones it uses is unclear. They may either come from its mother's corpse, the remains of its prey (if it is a carnivore) or from the mythical "Marowak cemetery" from which Marowaks get their bones. When it evolves, the bone helmet seemingly fuses into its face. However, it could be that its head just conforms to the shape of its "helmet", which may break when it is finished growing.
Cubone are described as short-furred mammals, with a gentle temperament. [lol, quoted from wikipedia]
