Apparently (according to my sister) David got his nickname "David Ten-inch" because before Doctor Who, he performed in play. And at one point, he performed wearing nothing but a bobby hat. ^_^

It is a little known fact that David also earnt the nickname 'Mor-lesté Tennant' when he saved a large colony of endangered moles from extermination on the island of Timor-Lesté. That is also why his fans are known as 'Tennant Mor-lesters'.
