Got back from a midnight showing a few hours ago, and that just might be one of the funniest movies I've seen in a while. Though, when you see a midnight showing, you're in a theater full of people who were just as anxious to see the movie as you were. So when something funny happens, everyone laughs in unison and amplifies the hilarity. So... you missed out.

Regardless, if you're a fan of the show in the slightest way, you couldn't be disappointed by this movie if you tried. If you're at least on good terms with the show and don't mind watching it if it's on, you'll enjoy it immensely as well. Even if you despise the show and have at least a little wit to spare to a cartoon, you'll get your fair share of laughs.

Now I'm not gonna review it or spoil any of the jokes, but I will go ahead and say to everyone in this guild that the church scene alone is worth the entry fee. They made some ballsy moves in this movie, and personally I think it's a step in the right direction. You'll know what I mean when you go see it. And you WILL go see it. I promise you'll enjoy it.

Did anyone see the new episode last Sunday where Cletus's children become famous singers? DUDE! There were more overt prejudicial jokes in that episode than I've ever seen before. Slams against blacks, republicans, Asians, gays, the religious right, bleeding heart liberals, Jews. It was seriously the most well-balanced stabs I'd ever seen.

And I know Matt's just doing it because it's the last season and he can get away with it, the cheeky monkey.

It was funny. biggrin

Well, maybe I should say "hurtling with great momentum towards the last hurrah," then. I didn't fact check, so you're probably right, Caustic.

Just saw it for a second time. It was a lot like eating a bag for Doritos you left open overnight; stale, but the flavor remains intact. I'd see it again. XD

I wasn't enthused with the movie. It's good and all but... nothing special.

Don't get me wrong, it made me laugh, but it's not a movie I'll be watching again in 20 years time.

Au contraire, any movie that gets 7-11 to change to a Kwikee Mart is very special.

I liked the "spider-pig" trailer the first time I saw it, but when I went to the theater, there were a shitton of little kids who were shouting out "SPIDER PIG SPIDER PIG DOES WHATEVER A SPIDER PIG DOES" when it actually got to that part, so it ruined it for me.

The rest of it I loved though, especially the part where he goes "they can't hear me, they're too busy praying to their phony-baloney God!"

To be honest, this movie was pretty much like watching an hour-and-a-half episode. The humor was essentially exactly the same as it's been for 18 years, and it was less extravagant than perhaps it could have been. That's not to say it wasn't a funny movie, of course, it was just sort of what I've been used to the whole time.
